Hello, My doctor does fills under fluoroscope (x-ray). The one fill I had was quick and painless. I could have slept through it it hurt that little. Good luck, Joan

Good job! Thanks for the encouragement! Yahoo! Good job! My fill was a breeze. It was less discomfort than an IV stick or blood draw. Hope everyone is having a good day. I need to make it to the gym this PM. Joan

Good Morning! I am happy to see that everyone was succesful this week who has posted their weight! I on the other hand was not. : ( Joan 219.0 What a great idea! I will change up my routine this week. Thanks for the suggestion! Good for you! Great job! It will get better each day. I'm glad you are feeling OK. Yeah Vicky! Yahoo!!! Have a great day, Joan
  5. I am just wondering, do people with more weight to lose possibly reach their sweet spot/ restriction sooner? I am thinking of the larger size stomachs that people with more to lose might have and what an average sized band would like like on it. I think it would restrict more than on a smaller stomach? Also I know that extra body fat around the band adds restriction. What do you think?
  6. Thanks for your comments! My doctor said after weight loss that people generally need a fill because their is less fat around the band adding constriction. Has this been anyone's experience? Joan

tell me you love your band!

I love the stages and will look for a copy. Is it from a book? I felt the same way as you before my surgery. Even in preop a part of me wanted to get up and run for home! LOL I am thrilled and so thankful that I have been banded! I feel great. I was banded 12/2/2010 and have had one fill. I am definetly working at my weight loss and overall health improvement. I journal, eat adequate Protein, fruits and veggies, workout most days, drink only calorie free drinks and control my junk food inatke. All the things taht we know we have to do but it is easier with the band. Best wishes to you on YOUR journey, whatever you decide to do, Joan
  8. Hello, Yes, I have been "stuck" and it is awful! I even vomited once. I am eating just about anything I choose but Istay totally away from doughy types of bread. Toast and the crusts of bread are fine. I probably eat 1/2 to 1 cup of food per meal. I haven't lost any weight in a week or so. I am journaling, eating adequate protein and exercising. I know I will continue to lose, even if it's slowly, and look forward to my fill on Feb. 4th. TGIF! Have a great weekend! Joan
  9. My fill instructions are liquids only the day of the fill, before and after. The next day full liquids and the third day soft/mushy food. My fill was so easy! Less discomfort than an IV stick or blood draw. Let us know how it goes! Joan
  10. My doctor does his fills under an x-ray machine. Ask your doctor if he can do this and then you'll know for sure what is going on. Good Luck! I don't get the sinus pain when I am full but reading your post is interesting to me because the few times I felt "stuck" I got an immediated, horrible headache. Interesting! Is anyone still feeling discomfort who had surgery around the 2nd, which was my date? I feel a bit of a twinge sometimes when I move a certain way, nothing painful just an awareness. I didn't lose any weight this last week and am working on a better week this week. My second fill is scheduled for Feb. 4th. Joan

    Still hate my band

I totally understand that things don't always work for everyone in just about all things in life. I haven't read all the replies but I have a few questions for you: Are you journaling what you are eating and following the guidelines from your nutritionist? If so, what does she/he recommend? Are you exercising regularly? Are you drinking liquids with calories? Have you lost any weight since banding? We all lose at different rates and if you are heading down that is better than gaining which is what most of us are used to! I eat far more variety than just chicken and green beans. For breakfast I had eggs, bacon and toast. For dinner I'll have a chef salad. Now lunch wasn't too great, chicken nuggets (5 small ones from Wendy's) and popcorn. I'll eat fruit for dessert tonight. I made pot roast for dinner last night. I think you can incorporate many/most foods in to your diet. It is not the free for all of our pre-banding days but can be quite enjoyable! I wish you the best on your journey and hope you find what works for you. I'd suggest you keep trying to find a way to make peace and find success with using the band as the tool (not cure) that it is meant to be. I know you've been frustrated and hope things improve soon! Hello, I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I took my son and his friend to the zoo today and got a lot of walking in. I was able to fit into a size smaller jeans! They are a bit snug still but good enough. What a great feeling!! My weight doesn't seem to be lower than last week but I know I am a bit smaller because I tried the same pair of jeans on last Sunday and decided they were too tight. Welcome to Stefani, Ketia, Aimee and Lionsll!!! I am glad you found us! Danielle~ I am up for the 15 squats and 30 crunches each day! Thanks for posting another exercise add on for us all to try! I look forward to everyones wonderful weigh in tomorrow! Joan
  16. I am happy you both are doing so well! I feel like I need another fill; my second one is scheduled for Feb. 4th. I have only a slightly reduced appetite and my stomach can easily hold more food than I want it to! My weight loss has slowed down and I am actually up a bit this week with TOM added in to the mix! I would explain all that you posted about Medifast and eating too much without it to your doctor at your fill appointmnet. TTYL, Joan

Lindsey is updating the spread sheet. : ) I am doing well and looking forward to my next fill. I am not feeling much restriction at this point. I also go for walks and use my airclimber and Walk Away the Pounds dvds. Hope everyone is doing well, Joan

  22. Hello, I had my first fill this week, 1.5 cc added to 3cc that was in my band from surgery. I am feeling some restriction and have my next fill on Feb 4th. How many total cc's did it take for you to reach your sweet spot? How many total fills? Thanks! Joan
  23. Thanks Sam! That is helpful information. I guess I'll be at 7.5cc at my March appt. if my doc adds 1.5cc each time. Joan
