How Many FILLS BEFORE YOUR 1st Restriction
annieM replied to LovingWhatIs's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've had restriction and lost it several times now. Today i got a whopping .5cc to bring me to 3.1ccs, so i'm hoping for good restriction again. With my two previous fills i really thought i was at my sweet spot and then before i knew it, i could eat too much. My weight has been stagnant because of this. My doc says i waited too long to come in between fills. I won't make that mistake again. It's just my rotten luck to have gotten up the nerve to tell a few friends about my surgery, and then stop losing. Talk about feeling like an idiot! -
I also get the funniest noises. Fortunately this has only happened at home (to amuse my teen agers). I hope it passes so I can eat out without turning red

I have taken it for years and have not had any problems.

They put a starbucks in my grocery store right at the entrance. It's great, but I wish they weren't there. (I wish the candies weren't at the checkout either) I love the iced coffees and figure them into my daily calories.

I had lasik many years ago and am still 20/20. I need weak reading glasses, but I see much better than I ever did with glasses. Don't worry about advertisement specials. The doc's constantly need new patients to operate on- because it works and the old customers don't need them other than for an ordinary check up!

I love the theme song. I also love to watch them melt and become healthy. It is so inspiring.

Left Shoulder Pain After Lap Band Surgery
annieM replied to vbaum's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have it too! I noticed right after banding that my shoulder was sore but I knew about the gas and associated pain and I thought it would go away. Wrong. I'm a year out and am still having trouble. I even had two shots to my shoulder and therapy for four weeks and it didn't help. There is no way I would give up my band because of it though. I'll live with it. -
I have the same issues with a varying amount of restriction. Very tight in the morning, a bit less by noon and more open for dinner. Before my TOM my band is so tight I can barely eat anything, but a few days after it's back to the usual pattern. It becomes hard to say if I am at my sweet spot, because I'm not losing, I've even gained a bit, but since sometimes I can't eat anything, I can't get more of a fill. Very frustrating. It's my band-anniversary and I'm no where near my goal, but I have lost some that I was unable to lose before banding. I agree with wombat that it is important to listen to your body while eating. Since restriction varies so much, every meal is a new ball game. I'm learning but I still pb a couple times a week.

If money were no object... 1 I would have maids and a chef to cook me diet meals so I'd never have to be in the kitchen (or grocery store!) 2 I'd get my art degree and paint all day 3 Lots of traveling 4 A private trainer to carve off more fat 5 New clothes from great stores

My DH is a foodie. He reads recipe magazines, cuts out recipes, loves to cook, and is good at it. Weekends are a blitz of cooking, entertaining and leftovers. Great fun to be sure, but awful for the diet. I am the sous chef and the clean up crew. He has had bypass surgery so he can eat all day and not gain. We have three teens who eat all day without gaining as well. He is a recovered diabetic who now buys m&m's by the pound. Anyone have some coping hints for me?

I'm 5'7" and I have been 150ish and I would love to be that weight now (THEN, i thought i was still huge). What amount of calories did they tell you to eat?
-
Why Oct 17th? It sounds like you need an un-fill now! Don't let the dr's brusque attitude get you down. Talk to the nurse on mon. and she can give you what you need.

Half of my family is stuck in Caracas under Chavez and the situation is intolerable. My family are hard working educated people who have been trying to come here for years and can't. (a subject for another rant) I hope Chavez is shot soon before he completely ruins a beautiful country.

I woke up while they were wheeling me to the recovery room. I remember feeling a bit cold, but no pain or nausea. I went home a couple hours later and just took it easy the next day or so.

I'll be watching. It should be a different show since it is in china. I look forward to the great photography.

When you are tired of discussing your weight loss....
annieM replied to picardy3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Many congrats on your masters degree. I don't know what it is like for people to comment on my weight loss, because I'm still waiting for that. I can imagine that it is annoying not only because of the automatic thought- they thought i was really fat before, but because we are used to just going about our day without any attention brought to ourselves. Understand too, however, that losing weight is a novelty. So few people do it when so many attempt it, try it, obsess about it. When someone really does it, people are somewhat shocked. -
I'm glad to read all your posts. I have been around the same weight since march. I had been doing so well up till then, that that is when i told a couple friends that i had the band. Now my lack of weight loss is embarrassing. I had a fill last tues. and am hoping to get back on the band-wagon.

I know it's a mistake, but I think of thin women as being arrogant bitches. In trying to become thin, I need to get over that so I can be thin and still be myself. (nice, but maybe not so much of a doormat that I am now)

Name one thing people would be surprised to know about you

When i was 28 i walked 150 miles on the altiplano of Bolivia in 3 days. After that, i thought i could do anything. -
I like the south beach diet dinners with chicken. The portion seems large and they are tasty. The beef dinners...not so good.

That's funny, I saw the thread and was thinking Lands End. They have a huge selection and swim suit toppers too. I ordered mine a couple weeks ago and it was delivered quickly.

I saw from another thread that today was your surgery date! How are you? Are you ready to LOSE :whoo:

Just banded - less painful than my childbirth experience
annieM replied to mommiranda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree, banding is way easier than giving birth. Welcome to LBT . Now you can watch the pounds roll off! -
Same here. I have an 80 yr old dad with dementia, two dogs, two cats, three teenagers and one difficult DH. Who has time to exercise? That's probably why I have been stuck at this weight so long. I don't want to get a fill until after my vacation in August either. Come September I'm determined to get a fill and get moving down the scale.

Glad to hear from you! You are on you way at last:)
