I'm looking forward to my lapband surgery. I have yo-yo dieted for the last 30 years. I can lose weight and I then gain weight-++ but I never seem to be able to stay the same. It has been very discouraging. I go up and down 70lbs in less than a year. Last year I lost 50lbs on Dr. Bernstein Diet only to have it race back on. It was a tremendously hard diet and I was always hungry. A few months ago after all these years of yo/yo dieting I decided I wasn't going to focus so much on weight loss and not let the calorie counting be such a huge part of my life and....another 30lbs came on pronto! My brother had the lapband surgery last year and I've been very impressed with his progress so I decided I needed to jump in. It's time not to be so food motivated and I'm looking forward to becoming healthier and having more energy. I'm happy that I can continue to have the support after my surgery with this forum. I'm having my surgery done in Mexico and it's a long way from Calgary,Canada. I'm looking forward to hopefully being a good sounding board myself for all you Banders out there!
