I'm from Whittington Il. -17 mi. South of mt vernon. My kidney specialist suggested lapband to me on Thurs. My surgery will be performed at Mt. vernon Good Sam. Hosp. It will be done by Dr.Shores.. Dr.Rashid my kid. spec. says good sam is lookin' into this as a new program. He wants me to do this because I'm 42 and have 1 dead kidney and the other functioning at 10%. Basically it is too poss. let funct. bounce back and improve my quality of life until dialysis. and then eventually transplant. Would love to talk to women who have been or are going to go thru this. I was just told by my kidney specialist yesterday that he wants to confer with lapband surgeon and he would be letting me know something before my next three mo. Appp. With him.. He thinks by having this done it will continue to keep from dialysis and quite poss. Lengthen life quality until kid. Trans avail. I would love to chat with some people who are going/gone thru this so i know what to expect..lingo already has my baffled(fill)?
