    Day 5 Post Op

I woke up feeling very restricted, like someone is squeezing my stomach. This is what I have had so far: Breakfast (8am): 1 cup of Gano Mocha Coffee with soy milk; 200 cal, 6 grm protein Snack (10-11am): Light and Fit Smoothie, 7 oz.; 60 calories, 5 grms protein Lunch: Anderson's creamy split pea 15 ounces; 260 calories, 0 fat, 18 grams of protein Snack: Carnation Good start with soy milk; 230 calories, 11 grms protein Dinner: Cream Chicken Soup; 1 cup; 70 calories and 3 grms protein Total Calories: 820 Total Protein: 53 grms Supplement: 1 tbsp. Glacial Milk Liquid Vitamin Liquids: Vitamin Water Revive (150 calories) 20 ounces Vitamin water mixed with water 20 ounces I am feeling a lot of restriction now in the evening. 1 cup of cream chicken soup has me full up to my throat feeling. I guess I am less restricted during the day, so that was why I was able to have 15 ounces of split pea soup. I still feel good physically, emotionally and mentally. I just feel a lot of restriction!!! I feel in the evening like I can't breathe so well, like I have a really tight corset on. I don't know if I am going to weigh yet or when. I do want to do measurements and will do them this week!!!

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Hey Susan!!! I am feeling very well today! I feel super restricted in the morning and last night I felt very restricted. I had a cup of coffee with soy milk in the morning. Right now I am sipping on a liquid yougurt (7 oz) and it is taking me over 1/2 hour. I did get out to go shopping and walked in there. I was feeling weak due to the low calorie intake.I calculated yesterdays calories and it was like 740 calories and 26 ounces of protein. So, it has been even less than that since Saturday. I am taking my Liquid Glacial Milk vitamins and vitamin water (150 calories). I am journaling my intake in the LBT journal. I bought some Anderson's Split Pea soup (creamy). I can't wait to eat some! I am full, but I can't wait to taste it!!!! Do you wake up feeling like someone is squeezing your stomach??? I do. I feel like that at night too so far. I feel like I want to burp and can't and that is a little uncomfortable when it happens. Otherwise,I sleep on my stomach very comfortably and move easily. I'd like to go around the block later. I wish I had a treadmill, but I have an elyptical and can't use it for 3 weeks. How are you doing? How is everyone else doing??? Audree

    January Bandsters???

I am feeling really good today!!! I went shopping with my husband this morning for some supplies and got a good little walk in. I got 730 calories in yesterday and 26 grms protein. I feel super restricted in the morning and even more at night so far. I feel normal except for the feeling of someone squeezing my stomach. I had 1 cup of coffee with soy milk, less since my 2 daughters drank some and felt very full. It is 10:30 now and I am sipping on a Dannon Light and Fit Smoothie (7 oz) for about a 1/2 hour. I feel very full. I am also sipping on my Vitamin Water, planning on getting to my goal of 64 ounces of water/crystal light/vitamin water. Other than that, I feel fabulous!!!! The only thing that has changed is I wake up at 6 am ready to start my day!!! How are you all doing??? Welcome to all the new people!!!! Audree

    January Bandsters???

When I felt like this I popped thy Gas X, used my heating pad and got in a kneeling, face down and butt in the air position!!:faint: It sounds funny but it worked for me! I also supported my stomach with a pillow and put the heating pad on my stomach. Walking helps the most!

    Banded yesterday and home today

Also, try a heating pad on your shoulder. It helped me with my gas pains. Make sure you walk. It really is the best advice to get the gas out. I didn't do it enough. Audree

  20. I am only 4 days post op, but I like that if I have a craving and want something, I have to stop and think about it. I drink water first. I have heard those two pieces of advice and never listened to them. I also get full on 1 cup of liquid and fell FULL! I am not a slave to my cravings and I feel in control. I love it! Audree

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Thanks Denise!!! I really appreciate that!!!:nervous Part of my recovery is just leaving my computer open and I respond to the new posts. Lets see, what stage are you in? My doctor is totally different with his post op. I was reading somewhere that you can have any good soup you like. I have to have liquids only,no mushies, for three weeks. I can go on solids and mushies after day 22. :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: If you are in the puree stage: You can get the Campbells' with bacon. You can make your own kind of stew in the crock pot, chili beans with some Skinny Cow melted in it or shredded cheese, lentils, I have also been melting skinny cow into my soup to add protein and the taste is good, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, apple sauce, pudding. Go to a Trader Joes and juste walk up and down the isles to check out new things. I hope this helps! Audree

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

I feel good! My dietician allows me to eat anything drinkable (except applesauce, pudding, cream of wheat, oatmeal until day 22), so I feel very fortunate to stick to that. I can have solid food after day 22. So, it is not as restrictive as most. Dr. Ortiz told me if I did EXACTLY what he said, I could lose up to 58 pounds in 6 months. If I didn't listen I would lose a lot less. I could also slip my band. I even have some appetite suppresants on had just in case. I'd rather have one than eat something that could cost me my band. Thanks for you support and encouragement! Audree

    Hello all

I just had my surgery with Dr. Ortiz in Mexico, TJ and it was above and beyond what I could have ever expected. I know everyone told me great things about getting banded in Mexico, but experiencing it myself, it exceeded all my expectations. I am day 4 post op and feel very good. I feel a little swelling and have restriction. One 4 oz. yogurt is enough to fill me to the limit. They have been doing banding longer over there than here. I know Dr. Ortiz has done over 4000. I give it a 10+ Audree
