BabyGotBack replied to charlottesweb91's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was supposed to get my period the day of surgery, but for some reason my body skipped it!!! -
I got what I thought was strep before surgery and started popping Airbornne. IT worked!!!
-
Your almost there. See you on the other side of bandland!!!
-
Yeah!!! How are you doing?:clap2:
-
Great!!! I had a reaction to the anesthesia too, but I vomitted 2 times. I also expelled a lot of gas by mouth at the same time. It was very strange to vomit banded. Walking is good!
-

God bless you too!!!

I am feeling great! I still have restriction to the point where I could only get in about 3-4 ounces of my Myoplex protein shake. I am now sipping on my Crystal Light Orange Sunrise and it is GOOOOOODDDDDD!!!!! I am loving it!!!!! I took my liquid vitamins, Glacial Milk. I am going to get some form of exercise today. I want to start off with good habits especially since I feel so good. How are you all doing???
-
Did you sip on liquids all day? I find if I do, I don't get hungry. I don't get solid/mushy foods till day 22, 10 days to go! My doc won't do a fill until 6 weeks. I have appetite suppresants just in case. They are natural yet do the job. I haven't needed them yet though.
-
Yeah, I know how you feel!!! I have heard that when people add solids/mushies, they gain so I just don't want to put myself through that. I think I will weigh myself after I add my solids in 10 days. I feel thinner so I know I have lost. I also didn't lose any weight pre op ,, like most. The good thing too is that we only have to weight 3 more weeks before a fill so how much can we really gain in 3 weeks??? I also have a bottle of appetite suppresants just in case. I have not needed them yet. As long as I get my fluid intake in, my appetite stays in control.
-
That is funny!!!:scared:

Hi Bandiva! I have a question. How long did you have natural restriction? Do you feel you need a fill now at the 6 week period and how do you know you need it? I only ask because I am 12 day post op and still have a lot of restriction. How will I know I need a fill when I hit 6 weeks?
-
Hi Kellie Reachell! That is why I haven't wanted to weigh because I hear that you do gain some weight when you add solids/mushies, but then you begin to lose. I don't know when I will weigh myself. Maybe after I start solids/mushies which is in 10 days for me!!!
-
I just got banded on Jan. 5, 2007 and have not weighed myself yet. I think I am scared too. I don't know how often I should weigh in.

Wow, no one had banding on NHS? Anyone suggest another site please x
BabyGotBack replied to helenuk's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Id respond but I don"t know what NHS is:biggrin1: !!! -
Yeah, that is how it feels somewhat only with the band if you overeat you will PB. I had 2 c-sections and was swollen like that too. And i for one have lost a lot of my appetite and eat because i know i need to or i get too weak
-
I think we all have done that, sabotaged ourselves at one time or another. It sure is sabotage to have gotten to your goal weigh or near it only to start gorging yourself and put the weight back on right away! I have done that so many times, over and over... The band will keep you from overeating. I almost threw up the other day(PB) but felt like that nauseous feeling like when you have to throw up, salivating at the mouth just because I had to much Soup. And it was completely liquid. I was shocked! I didn't think that could happen. YOu need to know that there are people who do sabotage their weight loss with the band by eating around the band, eating things that may go past the band. That is not the bands fault. The band is really only supposed to restrict solids, not liquids. I am still healing from surgery, post op day 12 so for now, my liquids are being restricted also. Some, with a tight fill may have their liquids restricted also, but again, the band was created to restrict solids. I have a friend as well as seen people on this board that work against the band, eat ice cream, milk shakes, high calorie liquids, chips, etc. Calories are calories and if you are still eating too many calories, you won't lose. We need to work our mental issues out before getting banded. I for one used these boards as my therapy. And, it worked!!! I am working with my band, not against it. I hate that feeling of nausousness and wanting to throw up. A PB (productive burp: the food comes up intact, sometimes dry or covered in slime) is a very painful thing I hear. I am not going to do ANYTHING that would bring me such discomfort. For me,I have a phobia of vomitting, have been that way all of my life, and I dread the PB even more. You can also slip your band and have to get it removed. Only you know yourself and know if you'd give in and work with the band or eat till your sick and PB all the time. That is almost like being a banded bulemic and then if that is the case, that person should get therapy first or not get the band at all. Some people have also had there lives in dangered by the band slipping in a dangerous way by pbing too much and vomitting,so the band is not something to mess with. It is to be respected and obeyed.
