-
Wow!! I can't wait to be there! I am almost a little scared too. I am getting used to being on liquids. I still have good restriction, 2 weeks down the road. I am not looking forward to losing restriction. I hope my restriction lasts until my first fill at the 6 week point, which is in 4 weeks.
-
Cool! I love my vitamins!! They have so many good things in them too!

CONGRATS!!! I am so happy to have helped you in any way. I only also told my mom and husband. Can you imagine how you will look when he gets home???? I am so excited too about this being my year. I also would daily obsess and just feel so at peace with myself. I am not where I want to be yet by far, but I FEEL so much better. I get full on very little. I just feel like I have a new lease on life! I love my Bandy! And I will respect her and work with her, not against her. Let me know if you'd like any other info!!! We are on our way!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

I feel great today!!! I woke up with energy. I am also meeting my mom at the gym today. I think that is what it takes, for someone to just ask me. I need to keep it up. I think she wants to meet twice a week to work out together. I should ask Marlene to work out with me at least once or twice a week since she works at the gym anyway and I get a free account because she does. This is what I have had today so far: Breakfast: I Gano Coffee with 2 cups of Silk Vanilla soy and I Carnation Good Start mixed in (I could only drink 1/2 so I am taking it so i can sip on it till I get to the gym) Calories: 400 , protein: 17 grams Liquids: Taking 32 ounces of Crystal Light to the gym

I got this from my bandsters email. "question: Has anyone been told by their Doctor or nutritionist to stop eating after a half an hour- I just saw a post that someone was told to stop eating after a half an hour - Has anyone else heard this? - I thought the 20 minute rule was a minimum so that your head(NOW HANDS) and stomach get signals and hormones are cued? _I'm really trying to dine instead of just eating and that takes a lot longer" answer:"After 20-30 minutes, your food will be dropping out of the pouch into the larger stomach. If you continue eating past 30 minutes, you are just replacing what's already passed through, defeating your purpose. " "I've been told to stop eating after 20 minutes. I have gotten into the habit that when I sit down with my meal, as I chew the first bite or 2 I continue cutting up my 'protein' so that I save a little time during eating. Jessie told me that if we take longer than about 20 mins the food starts to move down the band and the pouch isnt staying full. I told her that it was taking me longer to 'eat my whole meal' and she suggested that in the 20 mins I was getting 'enough'. So now I stop eating at 20 mins no matter how much I've eaten. If I get hungry a little later I have a bit more :)" "The logic is sound. When you eat, the food is constantly going through the stoma to the lower stomach. If you continue to eat for unlimited amounts of time you will be eating and emptying the pouch and therefore will be eating more than your pouch was designed to hold. If I feel full, and wait a few minutes I could continue to eat. Kind of like shampooing your hair, shampoor, rinse, repeat. I eat,get full, wait, and repeat. Using this method you could eat much more than bandster portions. Take it from me, I do it often." Have any of you heard this? <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

How much can you eat.....
BabyGotBack replied to cher3150's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got my band Jan. 5, 2007. It was not painful at all. My first three days were the worst due to gas. I was up and about after a few days. I am not hungry and still restricted after post op day 12. I am eating about the same as i did when i first posted, with a few more Snacks like V8 or yogurt. I was just so tired of the yo you dieting for the last 21 years, and was about to gain again into the 200;s. I am 5'5 and was 190. -
I am too, but I just don't know why I just can't do it!! I am afraid of getting disapointed. I was thinking I would do it after my three weeks, when I start eating solids.
-
That is great!!! I am doing great post op day 12! Let us know if you have any questions!!

I have been finding that at about 30 minutes, I feel like it is time to stop. A different type of full. My family has a history of heart diesese, heart attack at early ages, diabeties, high and low blood pressure, breast cancer, etc. I want to lose 50 pounds. So, we are similar in our stats
-
We are in the same boat! I wanted to catch myself before I gained any more weight. I bet everyone wishes they could have done that too. I am 12 days post op, will be two weeks on Friday. I can start solids/mushies on day 22. I have been having creamy Soups, yogury, V8 and anm still not getting enough calories. I get under 800 a day and I think that is too low. I am trying to get more in. I think if I lower my metabolism by eating low calories, it will only hurt me when I start eating solids. I think I won't weigh myself until I am a few days into solids. My pants do feel looser. I am so happy to have people here that understand where I am. I was also told by a few patients that I looked small but they thought that was better that I caught myself before going into the 200's.

Hey, I thought i was the only one with tags on my clothes!!! :biggrin1:

The port is usually not right under the incision. Mine is an inch under it. The hardness you feel are the stiches and scar tissue that is forming.
-
You will be in my prayers. Let us know how you are doing when you can.

We are called to love our neighbor. I live my life with treating others the way I want to be treated, loving and not judging, lest I be judged. The whole bible hinges on love. If there is no love, they are just clanging cymbals and noisy gongs.

Sorry to hear about it. The only way I got my band was as a self pay and I refinanced my house to do it. That may be an option somewhere down the road!!

Ask away!!! I am a self pay. You need to have a history of yo you dieting and have a bmi of 30. I did mine with Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. He has done over 4000 and is world renowned. I don't regret my Bandy. For the first time in my life,I have hope and i know I will get to my goal, this time.
