My incision was looking a little read and I just put some alcohol on it. I had to be on a 3 week liquid diet. I barely get to eat solids on Saturday!!:faint: I am excited but then again I am scared. How is the food going down? Have you pb'd?

I know that the word "diet" is a four letter word, but the South Beach Diet goes hand in hand with the bandster rules we are supposed to be following. You don't have to give up food groups, just make healthier choices, like whole wheat pasta, whole grain bread, instead of white flour products. There are recipes for cheese cake too! Whenever I did South Beach, the way of eating naturally curbed my appetite since you don't get those spikes in blood sugar. We are starting a South Beach Challenge on Saturday if you'd like to join!! If not, that's okay too!!! I also, am pre fill, so now that my restriction has let up, I am taking an appetite suppresant to get me through to my first fill. It is just a "tool" I will use until I am stable. I am personally going to use all the "tools" I can to be successful. The difference this time, is the band will help me maintain, once I get to goal.I have never been able to maintain a loss, but this time it will be different!!! Just take one day at a time! I come here for support everyday and that helps me get through the tough times. I also journal everything I eat and all my feellings. That helps me too!!! You have had great success and will continue to do so!!!! We are all here for you! -
Hey!!! Congrats on your banding? How did it go? How is your pOST op going? What is your post op diet like?
-
Did you have any symptoms prior to getting stuck? Did you get the stomach flu or vomitting ( my biggest fear)? Do you ever feel you over packed the pouch? I am just curious since I am a new bandster and wonder if the band slipps for a reason or if it can just happened? Thanks! I will also pray for you that your band slips right back where it needs to be!!

I need a plan of action. I am officially burned out on cream soups. I need to focus on not eating the same food over and over until I get soooo burned out on it. I need to buy some V-8 in regular and spicy, try all of my new Nectar protein drinks, try different liquids like juice or the soy drinks that are sugar free. I am also making a pot of homemade beans with a lot of water. I put them to boil for an hour and am now putting them in the crock for the rest of the night on high, with some sea salt, beef boullion and some chili bean spices. The juice will be really good. I need to try new things. I can start on mushy/solids on day 22 and that is not that long from now. Someone also told me to transition into solids on day 22 with mushies so I can avoid PBing. I have some instant mash potatoes that I have been waiting to eat. I can make lentils, my famous refried black beans, the ricotta and spaghetti thing... I am half way there. I need to use this time to learn. Learn and apply the bandster rules. No drinking 1/2 hour before, not during and not for an hour after. I need to take my time, chew, take no more than a cup at a time and wait. I don't want to feel sick like I did. I don't want to PB. I need to use this time also to let myself lose weight that can only be dropped doing liquids, as much as I can. I know a few will come back on once solids are reintroduced, but that is okay. I need to make sure I am getting enough calories. I also need to watch my liquids because liquid calories are so easy to rack up. breakfast: 1/2 cup of gano mocha coffe/soy milk; 100 cal, 3 g. protein lunch: 1 cup of bean liquid with a small amount of pureed pinto beans, a touch of shredded cheese. I can only guess on the calories; 100 cal, 5 grams of protien Dinner: tortilla soup; 200 calories snack: bean soup/laughing cow; 150 cal snack; myoplex, 8 oz; 150 Total calories: 700 Liquids: 5 ounces water, 20 ounces crystal light, 20 ounces crystal light snack: V8; 70 calories, 3 g protien exercise: walked around Sams for about 1/2 hour Feeling/mood: I feel very good today. I am taking it slow in regards to eating and am going to measure 1 cup at a sitting. I am keeping something to drink by me at all times, except near meal time, and I feel that is helping a lot with hunger pangs. I have not had to take my appetite suppresant, but I have it just in case I need it (QuickSlim 30). I still have not weighed myself. I feel thinner, face it thinner, fingers are thinner. I am so happy I did this. I also named my band today. Her name is Bandy! I feel I owe her so much! When I try to get out of line, there she is ready to pull me back.

HI!!!!!! I have heard that sometimes it takes about 2 weeks to kick in. FillCentersUSA.com does Dr. Ortiz fills. Maybe you can check in your area. How was the experience? Are you hungry or able to eat solids?
-
What is your diet like? We are starting a South Beach Diet challenge on Saturday. It is technically called a "diet" but goes hand in hand with the banster rules we are supposed to be following anyway!!! I also need to get my butt moving and get it in the gym!!! Welcome to our little corner of the world!!! :biggrin1:
-
Great!! How is your pre op going?????
-
Congrats!!!! I wish you best!!!

I am sorry! My surgery was postponed too and it was hard on me. I was depressed about it. Then, I used the extra time to study as much as I could to learn about the banding and all the mental stuff that goes with it!
-
I can start solids on Saturday too!!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: I am going to start South Beach that day. I also made my 6 week fill appointment for Feb. 17th. I am not feeling restrictioin when I drink or eat but am making myself keep the same portion as if I was, at 1 cup. I also am taking my appetite suppresant, for now!!!
-
I'm sorry!!! I had felt like that with a previous thread, so before I had the January thread, I created my own little thread, the Lower BMI bandsters! Maybe you can make a thread for Banded Guys! I am sorry if I didn't answer your questions, it was nothing personal! Take care and you are welcome to stay!
-
Sounds like you are doing great!!! I loved my heating pad too! I actually put a sipper bottle at my night stand so i can get started first thing or else it is hard to get it all in!!!
-
I will be praying for you surgery!!!! Keep us posted as soon as you can!!! You are almost in Bandland!!!:clap2: :clap2:

I am glad you are feeling better Susan. I am so afraid of PBing. I start on solids on Saturday and I am kinds scared. I don't know what to start with. Someone suggested eggs and cottage cheese to make sure I can get solids down. Do you start solids on Saturday too?

Welcome!!! How are you doing on your pre op?? Do you have any questions??
