Christina's Journey

My name is Christina and I had the lapband surgery in November of 2008. It's been a little less than two years now and I have lost 75 lbs so far. I have found that I am still yoyoing with my weight even though I have had the lapband. I have had about 6 adjustments which puts me at 11.5 cc and I have the largest band. I have struggled even with the lapband with feeling hungry or still eating more than I think I should. The doctor that did my surgery is no longer with the hospital and he never really explained the process to me so I've been left to try and figure things out on my own. I see a different doctor each time I go for an adjustment because the doctor that was assigned to me seems to be MIA. My journey so far has not been too bad but I am a bit frustrated with the doctors that I have seen. I have not had an adjustment in 4 months now because the last two doctors poked and prauded me for a good 10 minutes (painful even with them numbing me) and they still could not find the port. Therefore I am sort of scared to see any doctor other than the one that was appointed to me and he never seems to be there. I feel that I may need another adjustment but I'm also worried that the band may have not been placed in the right spot or that it has possibly stretched. As this point in the process I have tried finding a different hospital to carry out the rest of the process but they will not except my insurance so I'm at a loss. I continue to exercise and eat right until I can figure out what is going on.
