Was anyone banded in December of '06?

I was banded 12/7/06. I have lost 50lbs so far. Some lost while on the pre-op diet. I know exactly why I haven't lost double that amount. I need to exercise. I never was able to stick with an exercise routine, Recently someone asked what types of activities I liked, my answer was "playing, I like to play" hop scotch, wiffle ball, jump rope..you get what I mean. However, I am really too fat to run and frolick. Each day I try to do something physical to help build some endurance, i'll then be able to play more and in turn be more active..and so on and so on. There are times I feel so completely motivated other times forget it. I guess that is normal. Some days I eat better than others. I know if I move my ass the weight will melt off. I just got my 4th fill and finanlly feel a restriction similar to the way I felt the first few weeks out of surgery. I have a 4cc band, I'm now just over 3cc so I am having my esphogram <sp> next month. My first fill was good at first but in an instant the restriction disappeared. My 2nd fill didn't really do much. The third wasn't really a fill, they unfilled to measure me and make sure I wasn't leaking. Well that's my basic story. I'm glad to be here and hope that we all can be there for one another.

    Any Long Islanders?

Hi, Thank you for responding. I eat whenever I feel emotional...from one end of the spectrum to the other. I know excercise is key here, it will help me both mentally and physically. The gym at work is available, I just keep wondering when will be the best time to go...My kids schedules have a lot to do with this and also my own insecurities about working out in front of people at the work place, I am a big girl who isn't very nimble. I like the womens 30 min circut. Whichever franchise makes no difference to me. I am moving this summer so I will look online to see whats available near my new place. I was hoping to be able to maintain a 2lb a week lose, but that didn't happen. This will work once I am able keep focused for more that a week at a time. Keep in touch

    Any Long Islanders?

Dr. Geiss is my surgeon as well. I just had my 2nd fill today. My surgery was back on 12/7/06 and I'm only down about 40lbs. I know what I am doing wrong. My excerise routine is nonexsistant (even though I belong to a gym) I also will eat around my band and this current fill. I must be crazy. These are the same types of behaviors that caused me to become so over weight to begin with. Obviously I know what I should be doing but I never seem make the right choices just the easy lazy ones. What will it take for me to realize what is at stake here, I just wish I could find the motivation within myself.

    Sudden change??

I had my surgery 12/7/05..first fill of 1.5cc in my 4cc band back in Feb. I've had good restriction but all of a sudden 2 days ago I have no restriction what so ever. I mean I can even eat a full size meal. I intend of calling monday for an appointment for a fill but it seems so bizarre I could go from good restriction to nothing at all over night. Has anyone else experienced this sudden change?? I would've imagined it to be a slow change.. thanks paula

    Protein

I read an article that talks about how to get the metabolism you had at 20 yrs old. It says women should divide their weight in half and that is the amount of grams of Protein we should eat everyday. If this is true for even us overweight people that is a lot of protein. The article then mentions that too much protein gets stored as fat. Any thoughts or information about this..please respond. Thanks
