  1. I am a Dec. 13th girl! That will be my day for banding! I started my liquid diet today! Let me tell you I have been so hungry today! Soup just isn't filling me up long enough! I've always heard that the first few days are the hardest! I am using Isopure unflavored and Click Mocha as my Protein powders! Yay guys! We are on our way!

    Blogging?

I blog too. My link is in my signature! I have been blogging for a while but will be banded on the 13th of this month!
  3. Thank you girls!! Mountain Girl! I'm a mountain girl too! One cool thing I have is an app on my iPad that basically is a food diary! I used one online for years so I am very familar! Keeps track of my exercise as well! Fantastic on the 35lbs down! That is inspirational. I truly think it is going to be hard for me to learn to chew! I have been trying it but I find I forget about halfway through a meal! Now that I am on just liquids I guess pausing before sips and bites will be what a try! Thanks! Sabrina Did you just grind up your raw veggies?? As of this morning I have had a smootie with Isopure Protein powder. I am heading to the store for a few random goodies soon. My biggest issue is that I am a savory kinda girl and not so much a sweet eater! Most options seem to be sweet things! V8 will be a life saver I think!
  4. I have heard that they have protein powders that are Unflavored. I plan on trying those in soups and drinks! Let me know what you find because I am not much of a chocolate, vanilla, strawberry type girl!

    feel like a failure already!

You mentioned journaling to get your frustrations out! I recommend Blogging! I started reading some girls blogs from here and found a whole community of support and frustration release just from starting a blog! If you are curious my link is in my signature and I have loads of different bloggers on my page! Good luck!
  6. I probably will be starting this phase soon too! I have heard that the first few days are insane! Then it gets better! I think I am going to work on making some really savory broths..like thai and asian inspired so it feels like more then it is! Can you do that or is it all pre packaged soups and protiens!?
  7. I am trying to book my Psychologist appointment (which is required for me) and I not only am I finding it hard to find someone here but the cost is blowing me away! I am of sound mind darnit! So how much did it cost you or am I the only sucker?! (jk) How much did your sleep study cost? I need to go ahead and plan for that cost too. My insurance will cover it but I haven't met my deductable (getting closer by the day) yet. My wallet is hurtin!
  8. Hi guys! My Dr gave me a list of 4 psychologists to try! I live about an hour away from all of these guys(or gals) and was hoping to find some one closer. Finding that there are none I started down the list the Doc gave. 2 of them were filled until after Jan 1st. One charges $850 and does not file! I did find one today that seemed like a good fit! She basically worked me in to her schedule according to what I could do, she charges no more then $500 bucks and she will give you all the paper work to file a claim. I still think that is an insane amount of money! va-viv..hiya! Thanks for following me! I am hoping the sleep study goes like yours! I might have slight sleep apnea and it will be okay if I do! I just want it to be a little cheaper then the psych!
  9. I am having a hard time even FINDING someone who will do it and the places that will charge at least $700. To me this is insane.
  10. I am border line as well. I kept my keys in my pocket and my cell phone! I was .1 above! Insane..the only time you WANT the scale to be up!

    Not that great at waiting...

This whole process is a slow one!! Especially when you have made your mind up to infact HAVE the surgery! My first appointment (beyond two group appointments) is Monday!

    New,young and nervous

good! Now see if you can get an appointment and maybe surgery can fall on a break from school!?
  13. :) Wonder if we will ever see eachother at mission again or if it is a personal thing from now one!
  14. very true! I plan on really trying to make this work. Exercise..not eating slider food! It will work. It is to expensive to fail!

  15. I agree..it is to much to soon. I feel in a way that you work harder with the band and you get to enjoy food still with it. Gastric bypass people to me (and this is a minor observation) look a little sick to me. Maybe it is just the few people I know. Plus you are young so weight training will probably help your skin bounce back. I am chatty today for some reason. But I am glad you found me! :)

  16. Oh cool. Well tell her I said hello! That really is neat that she is going through this with you! Makes it easier to have someone to complain to. Well this site is good because you see the good and the bad. Of course I believe what the dr.s say but I think you can lose a lot more then the 50-60% they tell you in the siminar.

I am really excited. Not nervous. I am more nervous in figuring out how to pay for it if my insurence screws me. However I will do it because it is time for me to make a change and stick with it. Nothing could talk me out of it I think!

  17. august 30th...so the day before! How are you doing? Are you still excited?? Nervous? LOL I just read my last message...first friend that I know in real life that is getting the band! Is the lady that was with you going to her appointment too?

  18. yay! That is me! Awesome girl! You can be my first friend that I sorta know in real life! When is your first appointment? This is a fabulous website. I'm addicted. Plus I have several blogs that have been really inspiring! I'm Amanda

    Trying to stay positive...

I asked just that same question in the first 2 meetings I had at the dr. office. I am borderline and I was worried that if I lost weight that I wouldn't quailify. What they told me both times is that they record your beginning weight and that is what they follow going forward with your paperwork. I would confirm that with your care team but hopefully they have the same information!

    New,young and nervous

Good Morning! Congrats on taking the steps to improve your health! First I want to say I have little advice as far as surgery goes as I am getting ready for my first appointment as well! However, you are a young person and this could be the best time in your life to take charge! Reading on here and on members blogs I really have found inspiration to continue on this path! My sister is in school right now for a very demanding schedule. However with a illness she was able to get some forgiveness by talking with her teachers. Perhaps sitting down with them and giving them the details and pleading your case would at least allow you a little "time" when things are the hardest! But from what I have read, for some, recovery is a walk in the park! I hope that is the same for me! Good luck!
