Why do you have to wait until February for your next fill? -

dang you halloweem candy....
tylee72198 replied to trishfish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The kids (I've got 4 of them) candy will amazingly disappear around Tuesday never to be seen or heard from again. They don't need all of that junk food any way. I will end up sending it to school with my mom (a teacher) and to my dad's work. I would send it with Hubby, but he would end up eating it. He doesn't need it either. -

This weekend was horrible. My OB/GYN put me on a medicine that had me starving all weekend. I don't care what the scientists say. There are certain medicines that make you hungry, and I'm taking one. I had wonderful restriction before I started taking the medicine. I wasn't hungry between meals, and I couldn't eat but 1/2 - 3/4 cup at a time. I told my husband yesterday that I felt like I had gained 5 pounds over the weekend from Thursday on. Weighed this morning, and I had gained 2. Some of it should be water retention from the lovely medicine I'm taking. It just made me feel defeated, and I'm trying to control the impulse to eat. Not only has the medicine made me hungry, I crave sugar when I'm on it. I just want to cry. I was losing a pound a day (knew that wouldn't last), and today I feel like I've hit a brick wall. -
I'm only able to consume around 1000 calories a day most days. I don't think I've ever gone above 1100. I actually have to have snacks in between meals to get to that point. Other wise, I would be around 800. I wasn't losing weight at 800 calories. I was gaining it. I just make sure that my snack is around 100 calories and has protein. Every once in a while I will throw in a piece of fruit instead.

barium swallow made me sick
tylee72198 replied to poppieswife's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to drink 4 oz of the stuff twice (stupid xray tech didn't have a clue where my stomach was) before they would release me from the hospital after surgery. Other than that, it is like BetsyB said, only when I have my fills done under fluoro. -

Do you go to Lap Band support group meetings?
tylee72198 replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon has one weekly. If you go to 6, you get a free fill. One of these days after the kids football season is over, I might actually get to make one. The meetings occur just as football practice starts. -
I have to go to a Military Ball

Best of luck. I'm thankful that the Seabee Ball isn't until March. I really want to be down 100 pounds before then. -

I met my goal to lose 50 pounds before Oct 22. That is when we go on vacation. I'm so excited. We are going to see my husbands family in California, and most of them haven't seen me since 2005. -

Met with my surgeon on June 17, and I was banded on August 2. I was amazed at how fast the process went, since I met the requirements. -
OVER IT and I dont think I am getting enough fluids!!!!
tylee72198 replied to BlessedMama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a hard time "eating" and drinking the first week after surgery. I was tired from not enough protein, and I felt terrible. I wish I would have known that it wasn't normal. I had been reading that people were having a hard time drinking, so I just assumed that what I was experiencing was normal. When I went in for my one week post-op, I told them what was going on. I ended up getting an un-fill. The band had a little less than 1 cc in it, and when they took that out, it made a HUGE difference. I was finally able to eat my purees and was able to drink without any difficulties. -
That is fantastic. I know the feeling.

Weight Gain Question

Perfectly normal to gain some weight when you reintroduce foods back into your diet. -

I think I might have hit my sweet spot after the second fill. I can only eat around 1/2 - 3/4 cup of food, and I'm not hungry for hours on end. My normal 3 to 4 PM hunger that I had, is now gone. I'm going any where from 4 to 5 hours between meals, and even then I'm really only eating because I know that I need to. The thought of food was not appealing at all. I thought maybe it was because I was swollen, but I'm beginning to think that it has more to do with actually being restricted. I've also noticed that a full sensation that I get is my chest tightening up. I don't want to get to that spot at all. Amanda and Bunny - I can't wait to see a 1 in front. I was ecstatic to see a 2 instead of a 3. -
Where I'm at....how were you at this stage?
tylee72198 replied to fluffybutt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my husband tie my shoes, but we walked the neighborhood because Dr. said no to the treadmill. Perfectly normal to have weight gain after surgery. They pump you full of fluids. Every thing else seems normal. I ended up taking some Miralax in order to get the bowels moving. -
I love the videos. With 4 kids, I just don't have time to make it to the gym until after football season. My 2 little ones do it with me.

Did you tell anyone or ????
tylee72198 replied to extraonme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't mind telling the world. It was the best decision I've ever made. I want to be the poster child for Lap-band. That is my goal. People are asking me all the time how much weight I've lost. I even had somebody tell me I wasn't as squishy. I still love that. I don't walk up to somebody and say, "I've had Lap-band done.", but if they ask, I will certainly tell them. I've been approached by 3 different friends already asking me about getting Lap-band for themselves. They see how happy I am with mine, and how much weight I've already lost.
