    I'm back and BANDED!!!

Congratulations!!! I hope you stay as comfortable as you are with minimal pains. The gas pains were the worse for me. Just remember to WALK! Good luck on your new journey!!!!
  5. I was banded on 7-26-10.....I had a lot of gas pain in my chest and back and when that subsided I had a "chicken bone" feeling in my chest for 3 days that caused me not to want to drink anything. I feel a lot better now but still having a hard time consuming all my liquids. I'm on clear liquids for 2 weeks. Can't wait for next Monday to start stage 2 for purees!!! Good luck to you!!! WALK, WALK, WALK that is what seemed to help me the most!

I NEED HELP.....or at least some advice

Ok....so I am 1 week now post-op and I'm STARVING and the smell of food is making me nuts!!!! Has anyone else during this stage ever put food in their mouth (tonight my hubby made bbq chicken so that is what mine was) chewed it up to get the taste and flavor and then spit it out? I know it's gross but I did this tonight and afterwards felt guilty for doing it. I kept thinking to myself that I just want a taste..... Today was my 1st day in the last 3 that I didn't have that "chicken bone" feeling in my chest and therefore was able to drink a bit more. Am I going crazy or are these normal things and feelings?????
  8. Hi Lindsey.... I just got my lapband last Monday 7-26-10. So far for the most part things have been ok. Minimal pain. I know how you feel about just wanting a friend who understands and who is going through this too. I have felt the same way. Check your inbox....
  9. I wish you all the best and success in your journey. I try to always remain positive but this isn't a perfect world therefore there are times when you need to be "real" and know it isn't always going to be easy. Since my last post, that "chicken bone" feeling has subsided (knock on wood) and hopefully will stay that way. That was an awful feeling to have. Hopefully now I can get some of this protein crap in me for I feel weak as hell not having anything inside of me. Keep me posted on you and I will pray for you! (I'm still not quite sure how to add friends on here so if you do, add me....I would be honored!) Talk to you again soon!!!!

  10. Thanks for sharing, Daisy. I will be banded on the 19th of August. I will enjoy following your posts as you're about 4 weeks ahead of me. It is nice to know what to expect. I appreciate the way that you write, it is upbeat, but also honest. We need the truth as much as the sunshine, eh? :-) Stay strong and I look forward to your next post! :-)

    Almost 1 week post-op....

So I had my surgery and all in all things went great! Very minimal pain the day of surgery....the next day a bit more pain but the 2 days after that I felt really good. However, the last 2 days have been awful! I feel like I have a "chicken bone" stuck in the middle of my chest! This is causing me to not want to drink anything and I'm afraid if I don't drink (especially my protein) I will never feel better! If anyone has suggestions on if this feeling is normal and what I can maybe do to releave the feeling I would be very grateful! (I have gotten some good advice already but it doesn't hurt to have more options!) Also, I find it extremely hard when my family is eating and I can't. I want so badly to just put some "real" food into my mouth that it's really starting to depress me! I don't go until 8-19-10 for my follow up and I have promised myself I would NOT weigh myself until then....however there is still that part of me that wants to know if anything is working for me yet. Well blessings to you all and I hope to hear from my "LapBand family" soon!
  12. Thank you so much for the advice....I will try it. Tonight I was able to get a little bit of chicken broth down without have that "feeling." Hope tomorrow will be a better day! I'm not quite sure how to add friends on here so if you could add me I would be honored! Talk to you again soon!!!

  13. Daisy, I got your message. I rolled up a piece of deli turkey meat and just sucked on it. Olives too. Didn't chew them until about 7-10 days out, but the flavor gave me tremendous energy, believe me! If your shoulder is hurting try a heating pad. And put it over your chest -- it helps! The other thing that seemed to help that feeling was sugar free popsicles! Take care and get to feeling better!!!

  14. Hello....

I have been reading some of your blogs (as well as the good luck wishes you left for me.) I am now 5 days post-op. The last 2 days have been awful. I feel like I have a "chicken bone" stuck in my chest. This makes me not want to drink anything. I hope this feeling goes away soon. Other then that I really have minimal pain. I am SO hungry though and wish i could just put some "real" food into my mouth if only for a second!!! :) Keep in touch!!

I had surgery and some complications!

I had my surgery last Monday and I'm STILL suffering with the gas pains! That is really the ONLY pain I have. I actually went #2 today for the 1st time but it was more water then anything. Good luck to you and I pray for a speedy recovery!!!
