This Friday will be three weeks since I had the surgery. Around where the port is, it feels very itchy. I hate to use the word weird but that's how it feels.

How much pain did this cause you?

Had mind done on Sept 10. Stomach was sore for about a week but the incisions still itch. Never had gas. I can feel the port. I get my first fill Oct 12 or so. I go to soft foods this coming Sunday (good for me) -
I feel very thankful to my medical insurance

I feel very thankful to my medical insurnance company. I just reviewed my insurance account claims and feel very thankful I have great insurance. Total billings so far are at about $30,000 for the operation. ( i went home same day) Of course they only pay a percent of this amount. They must write off the difference. Had the operation two weeks ago and am doing pretty good. Still a lot of itching but healing up nicely. Get my first fill in three weeks. -

Yes, I have the same plus a blister where bandages were tighted. -
Had my surgery on Sept 10, and Monday the Dr. took me off liquids and put me on pureed foods. He said run everything thru the blender for two weeks and go on to soft foods. I get my first fill in 3 weeks. Going to try some Wendy's chilli tonight in the blender. I purchased two taco's last night and took out the hamburger and cheese and put that into the blender with a little sauce. Tasted pretty good. It filled me up. I used to eat 5 or 6 whole taco's at a time. Those days are gone. I also did eggs in the blender yesterday for Breakfast and added a little lite sour cream. It was good. Gone are the days of eating breakfast out and having 4 eggs, toast, pancakes, bacon and ham. And 3 or 4 cups of coffee and orange juice.

Upcoming Surgery - Food Restriction Fears

My Dr. told me pizza was ok if you take very small bites and chew well. Just can't eat it all the time. My problem was that I would eat 1/2 of a pizza at one time. -

Did your Dr. call you after the surgery?
tle5000 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a tooth pulled sometime back and the Dentist called me that night to see how I was doing. I had a eye infection and my eye Dr. called one night to see how I was doing. I was banded last Friday and no one called me to see how I was doing. The care while I was in the hospital was excellent and I do have a Dr's appointment (follow up) next week. But it does strike me a little funny that no one has called! Did your Dr. or staff call you to inquire about your surgery and see how you were? -

My son had a simple root canal done and the Dr. called him that night to see how he was. -
Could a person eat pizza if they cut it into very very small bites? Also my Dr. told me that I could never eat streak again, but what if a person put a few picses in a blender with some a-1 sauce, wouldn't that work.

I was also told that popcorn would be off limits but read on this site where alot of people still eat pop corn.

This is the first I have heard of this straw thing. I cut my coffee intake from 3 cups per morning down to 1 cup.

Had my surgery yesterday. I could not wake up, took about 5 hours to get those drugs out of me. I am really sore today and hopefully will feel better each day. The Dr. let me come home the same day. I have triwest insurance and my total payment is $25 bucks, feel lucky there. I also got the fills approved.

Had surgery last week and I have a very large lump right above the large incision. I beleive it's the port? Can you feel yours? At least, I hope it's the port. About the size of a half dollar at least.

I was banded last friday but I started dieting in March. Since March I have loss 30 lbs. 50 more to go. Just looking forward to eating real food again and not these protein drinks and crystal light.

I drive 50 miles one way. They have no weight loss Dr's in my small town. I beleive your health is worth driving the extra distance for better care. Good Luck to you!

Favorite foods since being banded?

Ribeye streak: I was told by my Dr. that streaks were a no no. I love streak. How many of you eat steak? -
Had the surgery on Friday and I beleive the Dr. said to take off the bandages 5 days later. I was so out of it when he told me and I can't read his writing either. There are two types of bandages, little white one and some big see thru brown ones. He used some kind of crazy glue on me and they still itch really bad. How the heck do you get them off? and When?

Once you have the band and all the fills, can you take any size pill or does it have to be very small or liquid? Also once you are banded, how much Water can you drink at one time?

Look's like the product key code when you buy a microsoft product. Then again it could be missile launch codes, ha.

I have never had a problem with burping but had my surgery on Friday and now I seem to burp all the time, is this normal. Also my stomach aches ( maybe because of no food) and it could be because of the liquid medication I am taking. Not to mention the fact that I am very sore in the stomach area. I never had too much pain just being sore.

Had mind on Friday and today I do feel like I got beat-up. I also have an upset stomach but it may be the pain medication the Dr. gave me to take home. I am counting the days until I feel better. I also feel like "what have I done to myself".
