About Me
I underwent Lapband surgery on July 7, 2010. I had great success and lost 101 lbs at my lowest weight. I began to have trouble after my last fill in March of 2014 and was diagnosed after many dr visits and finally an endoscopy with acid reflux and esophogitus and told to keep taking meds and live with it. I couldnt eat much at all, began doing slider foods like Cheetos and Milk. I gained about 10 lbs and decided I needed another fill so went back to the lapband surgeon and told him what had been happening over the last 15 months. He said the last thing I needed was a fill that he feared I had stretched my esophogus or slipped the band or both. Since I had been a self pay he also advised me to go to Kaiser ( my insurer) since I may need another operation. I was devastated. I will fast forward to last week and tell you I am having my lapband removed and converting to a gastric sleeve and YES my insurance is going to cover it!
