I'm only 25 years old and preparing to have surgery (self-paid... have been saving up for YEARS as my insurance does not cover it) in September.
I WISH with all of my heart that I could have had it done when I was around 19. That would have prevented so much weight gain for me and kept me so much healthier.
However, at 15 and 17 there is NO WAY I was ready. I was still living at home with mom and dad and not responsible for my own actions in the capacity that I am today.
I'm new to the forums, but I love that y'all are keeping it spicy around here!!!
And I'm with whoever said it's easiest to just have a towel nearby. That ain't happening in my mouth, no way, no how.
This is also a concern of mine, but I really think it should be okay for the both of us.
I had my gallbladder removed last week and was also told by the anesthesiologist that it was safe to nurse within 6-12 hours of the surgery and so I did. My baby is 11 months old and TRYING to self-wean though I'm so not ready!
I'm afraid that my lap band surgery in September is going to be the straw that breaks the camel's back and he will self-wean then. But I want to be healthy for him long-term!
