I had my third fill three weeks ago. For the first couple of days all i could get down was soup broth and water. then for several days i was able to occasionally get down thin mashed potatoes. since then I have been able to eat a small amount of fish (sometimes). I keep trying different foods but most get 'stuck" and I end up in the bathroom. I didn't have this issue with my other fills. after my second fill there wewe definitely a few more foods I couldn't eat, but Icant eat much at all after this fill. I see my dr. in two weeks, is this a normal feeling of restriction that I was just unaware of, or am I too tight?

havent' been on in a while. My husband and I and a partner an his wife have opened a bbq restaurant. Friday was the first day open. Not expecting the crowd we had this weekend. On my feet ALL weekend. Good news I had no time for eating meals let alone snacks. Lost 4 pounds since Friday. I guess it is a good thing I am not a big bbq person or I might be in trouble. I have had a few things get "stuck" over last few weeks, mainly bread, and yes it hurts but I had something stuck last Friday and couldn't get it down and ended up throwing it up. Hope that doesn't happen again. My fault though, didn't chew well enough.

Tomorrow is one month since my surgery. I am very discouraged. I have not lost any weight in the last two weeks. I feel like I am eating more than I should be able to. Granted still eating much less than before, but not seeing results. I can eat just about anything. I stay away from bread because it doesn't go down well. Are these typical experiences? My next dr. appt is Monday the 9th. I am guessing I will get a fill. Hopefully I won't be able to eat as much and won't be as hungry. I am also having problems not drinking while eating. I don't drink between meals (never have) but I drink alot during meals. Anyone else have this problem?:tt2:

Thanks to all for the info. I have been exercising, but not recording everything I eat. Will start that and hopefully with that and my fill things will get better.

Well I am feeling much better. Still VERY tired and definitely no energy. After having 2cc removed 5 days post-op I no longer have the choking feeling in my throat, but I am getting hungry and feel no restriction. My dr. appt is aug 16. I am nervous about getting a fill because I do not want to feel like I felt before.

I was also banded on july 7. I had to make a return visit to my dr on july 12 and have 2 ccs removed. I was too tight. felt like a lump all the way to my throat. couldn't hardly drink anything. Now I have no restriction. I go back on aug 16 hopefully for a fill. My dietician told me I could start each new week a couple of days early, just not to skip any weeks on the post op diet. I had tilapia for the first time today. Must say I ate much less, but still hungry. ready for the feeling of fullness. I had lost 18 pounds, but put 2 back on since introducing mashed potatoes and cottage cheese. reading all the posts helps me and lets me know everything i am going through is normal. thanks

up early because i can't sleep. can't lie down flat due to pain in chest and full feeling up to my throat, even though I haven't had anything to drink since last evening. I am trying to hold on the your tips that this will pass, but i am miserable. i do walk and try to help with the gas. it is going down, but i can still see and feel how much gas i have in my abdomen. it helps to talk about how i feel on here. no one at home knows how i feel.:rolleyes2:

I am 6 days post op. I saw my dr. yesterday and he removed 2cc from my band. I was completely miserable and ready to have it removed if it was supposed to feel like that. Didn't feel much better last night, but much better today. still have alot of gas build up but is getting better. My major problem now is weaning myself off of a medication that has side effects when you quit. if i can get past that i think i might feel normal again. thanks for the words of encouragement and advice.

I was also banded on the 7th. yes i get that full/tightness in my chest all the way up to my throat. I had 2cc removed today but the feeling is still there.

I broke down and called my doctor. He wants to see me tomorrow to let some fluid out. so i guess i get my first unfill tomorrow. I can handle the gas, though it is not fun, it is the feeling of everything backing up into my throat and not wanting to drink at all because i know it will be painful. hopefully tomorrow will be much better. thanks for the advice.

my surgery was wed. july7, 2010. three days ago. right now i am wondering why i did this. the incisions are healing well - still a bit sore but other than that ok. but the gas build up is painful. not sure if i have an obstruction, if my band is too tight or it is all gas. it is a dull pain in the middle of my chest. i am lso nauseated. i really want to chew something. i am looking forward to week 3. i go for my one week check on 7/14/10. hopefully i will feel better after i leave.

Hi I am new from southern illinois. I am day 4 post op and miserable. the gas is not fun, but I think I either have an obstruction or my band is too tight. pain in the center if my chest and it feels like i am full up to my throat and I haven't had anything to drink since last evening. do i need to see doctor before next visit on wed 7/14/10 or should i just wait?

Newly Banded & Loads of Questions for others Post Surgery!
rubydelaney replied to AnnG123's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was just banded on wednesday. i didn't realize how bad I would feel. the incisions are healing nicely, but I have no energy and feel nauseated all the time. It feels like I have a lump just below my throat. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Emotional journey is another issue. I have had a couple of meltdowns due to not feeling well. How has everyone coped with this?
