  1. So I just read some of your posts-I hope you are ok. My thoughts go out to you! Stay strong!

  2. I think this is completely normal....I am a bit of a drama queen but the day of my surgery (after i was already hooked up to an IV) I wanted to run away! I went into a total panic and just wanted to go home! my very supportive family reminded me of all the time i have spent doing my research and all of the reasons i wanted to do this!!!! 5 min later I was being wheeled into the OR, put myself on the table, and the next thing i knew i woke up in recovery! Don't psych yourself out-it's normal!!!!

    my band is broken.

I am really sorry to hear that you are having to deal with this. I was banded in September and have only lost 15 pounds... Although I didn't do 100% on my part I felt like my band isn't doing it's job, so I can somewhat relate to what you are feeling. I really hope you find some answers. I would suggest getting ahold of your doctor asap and discussing some serious options. Be aggressive...I feel that I always go in with questions or concerns but never get proper answers because I am not aggressive enough...keep us updated and remember you have LOST 70 pounds...you can do this
  6. Down 8 pounds to 232!

  9. Hey Everyone I am back...for those that remember me.... I have to admit, this has not been a journey that I am necessarily proud of. I was banded in October and had a pretty awful recovery, I don't think I have a very high pain tolerance. Anyways, I have decided to come back because I need the help and support from my fellow bandsters. After my surgery I went into a huge depression. I will keep the story short but I basically didn't have any restriction and have been eating terribly and not following through and I am sooooo disapointed in myself. ANYWAYS, I have been eating healthy for the past week and have been exercising for 3 days now. I know its nothing in the grand scheme but hey it's a start. I also feel like I have NO restriction what so ever and have had 3 fills....I've only lost 15 pounds.

  14. I haven't watched the show but having been through the "lap band talk" with my family and friends I have learned that it's a very personal decision. While I do want the support and acceptance from my family and friends-in the end it's a decision that I made. The day I planned on sitting my family down to tell them about my decision to get lapband, a family friend had died of "lap band complications." It was really a heart condition but because she had just had the lapband it was immediately blamed for her death. As with any surgery there is a risk but it is a personal choice that I had made. There are always going to be people who do not agree with any decisions we make in life...a tv show isn't going to detour me from doing what I want. Just my opinion.

    Surgery is Tomorrow!!!!

I think the 48 hours before surgery were some of the hardest hours for me! I had the worse headache-caffeine withdrawal! My point is-if you're gettin' through this then you're good to go! Great luck to you tomorrow and welcome to the world of being banded

    Eat before or after workout?

I found that I am able to push myself more on an empty stomach. I ate dinner last night and worked out about an hour after and the whole time I was on the elliptical I was concentrating more on keeping my food down. I think it's a personal decision though
  17. wow great for you! Congratulations!
  18. I am almost 8 months out. I have lost 15 pounds (which was at the very beginning) but have not lost anything since. I have to be honest, I did not stick to the plan until very recently but I just do not feel like my band is even in me. I get so depressed when I see how much weight everyone else is losing. I am more than thrilled for those who have been successful, i just wish I could join you guys and say that I have lost a huge amount of weight. Does anyone else feel like it's not working for them? And for those of you have have been successful, what have you been doing!? Any response is more than appreciated!
  19. I've had 3...and I do not feel any restriction...
  20. I'm so happy to hear you are finally feeling restriction!!! I wish I knew the feeling! lol What have you been doing to work it?
  21. Well as i happy to hear I am not the only one, I am sorry that you have to go through this. I could imagine it would be even more frustrating if you've done everything and still no results. I have to be honest, this past week (literally since last Monday) I have eaten healthy. Just watched what I ate and how much. i exercised(30 min of cardio) 4 out of the 7 days and to my surprise I lost 7 pounds! Those 7 pounds were lost completely on my own. So yes I am happy that I've lost it but I have no restriction so I'm hoping as I get closer to restriction it will be a little easier...Since you're pregnant have you found that it is easier to control your weight with the band?
  22. 37 pounds is awesome! It sounds like maybe you need an un-fill? At the beginning I was experiencing the same things as you-I went in and the did a teeeny unfill and it was the someone flipped a switch! I immediately felt better.
  23. HOW EXCITING!!! Keep up the good work!
