    I've lost NO weight.

I was also banded June 30th... I lost initially however the last couple of days I have been feeling like I am not getting full when I eat, and that I could just eat and eat adn eat... it IS frustrating... I dont go for my first fill for 4 more weeks... I ahve a call into my doc to see what they want me to do... Good luck on your journey...Keep me posted....
  2. I saw my doc for my first post op on the 13th, all looks great.. I am doing really well also...I was moved to pureed's for 5 days then on to softs as tolerated... So I am slowlyyyy introducing more and more soft things... Today for lunch I had 2 small turkey medalions with mashed taters and gravy and some very well cooked carrotts.... I cant wait for my first fill, they said I might get it when I go in for my next appointment in 5 weeks.... Keep me posted... Take Care... Janica

    Had my first fill today!

I dont get my first fill for about another 5 weeks out... I am 16 days post op and have lost 21 lbs since surgery... I was in the chat room the other day and someone came in and said they had just had their first fill, and that they PASSED out from it:eek:... I was freaked out about getting the first one already BUT thats made it 100 times worse for me... I have 6 tattoos, does it hurt worse than getting a tat? LOL Im a wimp when it comes to pain... How do I prepare for getting a fill? Anything special? I wish you all luck and good health on your journey....Thanks for the information....

    Newly banded

I had very watery stools for over a week and a half after surgery... Make sure you are getting enough fluids in or you can get dehydrated, I did and it sucked BIG time.... I am 14 days post op today, and I also have my first post op appointment today...So I will be talking to the doc about progressing my diet to soft foods...I know I got sick of jello and popsicles when I was first banded, with in the first few days... Good Luck and keep us posted....

    drinking while eating

Im a drinker too... It has always been a habit for me to sip while I eat, BUT I KNOW if I do it, I wont be as successful at attaining my goal as I want to be... Now with that said, I must say this, keep in mind I am only 2 weeks post op, so it is easier said than done right now.... ask me about it when I get on to more solid foods.... I just know this.... they make these rules to help us attain our goals and be successful at weightloss so we can have better lives... I didnt go through all I went through to be able to have the surgery only to self sabotage it.... Good luck on your journey....
  7. Morning all.... I am 13 days post op today, adn have a couple of questions... things have gone really well for me thus far, with the small set back of some dehydration that required IV therapy on day 7....Am tolerating the full liquids very nicely.... So my questions are: 1: What can I expect at my first post op appointment? 2: Any one have a fear of becoming anorexic since having the surgery done? 3: And what about sleep? I get about 3 hours a night of sleep is all since surgery... I am tired adn not napping during the day, but just cannot seem to sleep at all... As far as the becoming anorexic thing goes, I just worry about it... actually I obsess over it... making sure I am following the docs timetable for eating to a "T", as to make sure I am not missing any thing, and that I am getting enough liquids in... Any advice on the above questions would be awesome... thanks so much guys and dolls... Have a wonderful Monday.... Keep at it....

I'll be glad when I can........

    - Not be the token friend, you know the funny one with the "cute face"... - tie my own shoes without gasping for air adnahving to take a break between shoes - wear cute clothes - not have the joint pain I have - and know that Im not going to be the "fat" grandma that cant play with her grandkids (when I get them) - and most importantly for me... feel good about who I am on the inside as well as the outside

Did anyone cry the first week??

I had a HUGE melt down with in my first 7 days or so of being banded, I am 13 days post op today... I was asking myself the same thing, and just knew that is I had to have ONE more bite of jello that would be the end of me... I sat here at the computer with a hunger unlike any Id ever felt before, wanting to eat anything, including my chair (LOL), adn I talked with some of the people in chat and they helped me get through it... It has gotten better for me tho, adn I hope for you also... I know I worry about every little thing I feel, I say to myself "OMG was that my band slipping? Do I need another surgery? Can you REALLY do this? etc..." and I just have to take a step back, remind myself why I got banded in the first place and then pull myself up by the boot straps and continue on... Good luck, let us know how you are doing... Take care....

    Question for the ladies...

I had ablation myself, and also have my tubes tied, but as with you I still get PMS and all the joys that come with it... I am only 13 days post op so I cant answer your question BUT will be interested to see what others have to say.... just wanted you to know, I know what you are talking about....Good Luck...
  11. Morning all.... Here it is post op day 10...And I am doing GREAT.... When I first started this journey back in January I was 262 lbs, and my BMI was 44... Today I am 219 lbs and not sure what my BMI is at this point....I had my surgery done at Fairview U of M campus in Minneapolis, MN. I made the decision to make this change when I realized that I was having too many health problems related to weight and just couldnt do it alone... I had to lose 20 lbs prior to surgerry and I was able to manage losing about 30...I have about another 80-90 to lose to be at our goal weight for me, I am 5'4... I was off pain meds by Monday, had a bout out dehydration Sunday - Tuesday that was treated Tuesday with a trip to the hospital for IV treatment, was put on Full liquids Wednesday and am enjoying having something other than jello and juice Anyways, Im new to all this so I dont have any answers, and am full of questions BUT I am here to listen and be supportive... Love and HUggs God Bless....
