Hi, my name is Lisa. I am a 46 yr. old mom and housewife. I have been overweight for the past 20+ years and was at a point in my life that if I didn't make changes my health would be on a decline quickly. I have thought many times about pursuing the lap band procedure, but never did until March 2010. Due to some health issues I already deal with was the motivating factor of taking the first step. My surgery was on July 14, 2010 and have not regreted the decision I made....EVER!!!! My starting weight was at 234 lbs., pre-surgery was 231. I lost 10 lbs. on the pre-surgery diet and reached my goal weight of 140 lbs. in 18 months. I now make it a new goal of trying to maintain my goal weight each day.

My health issues have either gone away, or have been drastically reduced to a bare minimum. I feel like a human being with so much energy that I am trying new things that I never thought I would physically be able to do, much less even having the confidence that I could do them. I am still a little nervous stepping out of my comfort zone, but have enjoyed the outcome of my adventures more than anything.

What can I say....I am totally enjoying the new ME!!!
