  1. Happy 51st Birthday Leese!

  2. Happy 50th Birthday Leese!

  3. I am tight in the morning. I shake is a good breakfast for me. I do eat cheerios and milk but it takes me 20 minutes to eat this because there is a delay in how it goes down. My doctor wanted to take some fluid out of the band. I refused. I don't have enough restriction at lunch and supper.

    hiccups

I get them if I get food stuck.
  5. A few years ago I started the process of Lapband. And I backed out because I said to my self that I can do this on my own. "Look I am currently losing weight on my own." So I back out. Well the year that followed, I did not continue to lose weight and gained all the weight back and a few more pounds. So I decided to start the process of Lapband surgery again. On 09/29/08 I had the surgery and have not regretted it. It is a slow process, and you need to be patient but with multiple fills and as time goes by, you do see the results. I wish I had done it sooner. I was nervous and scared to have this surgery too. Good Luck on your surgery.
  6. I just had my blood work done to check my cholesterol levels. They have gone up since a year ago.My current cholesterol is 239 and a year ago it was 191. My Ldl currently is 157 and a year ago it was 119. I have lost 53lbs in the last year and exercise regularly and feel that I eat healthy. I don't eat much red meat. I don't understand this. Has this happened to anyone else? Not sure if this could be a genetic thing or age factor? I am 46.
  7. When I started the whole program I weighed 305. The day of my surgery 09/29/08 I weighed 285 . Today I weigh 257. I have had one fill and am due tomorrow for my second.
  8. My surgery date was 09/09/08 So I am about 3.5 months out. I have lsot 27lbs since surgery. Lost 20lb prior to surgery. A total of 47 lbs in less than a year. I am very pleased with my weight loss. I could have never done this on my own and still kept it off. Leese

    Back pain

I had back pain after surgery and it continued for a few weeks. I would use a heating pad when I slept and that helpped. I thought maybe when they moved me from the bed to the surgical table something twisted. It finally went away until I had my first fill. The pain came back off and on for a few days. I didcussed this with my surgeon and he just brushed it off. Said maybe it is muscle pain? I never had this prior to having the band.

    Where are the vermonters?

I had my surgery on Sept. 29th, 2008. So far,I am very happy that I had this surgery. I have lost 27lb since surgery and prior to surgery I lost 20lbs so that is 47lb since March of 08. I have had one fill and I have 4cc in my band. I am due to see Dr. F in two weeks and feel I need another adjustment. I do feel that I did have some restriction when I first got my fill but that has went away. Although some mornings I am tight and have some diff. eating breakfast. Everything has been positive. They have started some weekly meeting for post op people. The yahoo blog can give you info. Leese

    B-12 shots anyone?

I am also low on B12. I take the sublingual form of B12 1000mcg per day. I have been doing this for years and it works for me. I hear the shot are painful and probably expensive. I buy these at Walmart. They are inexpensive. Leese
  12. I have this pain off and on since my first fill. I also had it after surgery and it took weeks to go away. I spoke with my surgeon and he said it sounds muscular. He didn't seem concerned and acted like it was not from the band. I have never had this before lapband. I have it some times before I go to bed and haven't had anything to eat for hours. I sleep with a heating pad against my back to ease the ache.

    Where are the vermonters?

Hi, I had my surgery Sept 29th at FAHC. I am from Barre, VT. All went well with the surgery. My stay at the hospital went well. I didn't expect to be so wiped out from the surgery. I have minimal pain. The pain I am experiencing is in my back. I think it is due to gas. Yes, I am walking. I don't have an appetite but trying to get in my 64 oz. of fluid each day. So far I have no regrets on having this surgery. Leese
