I have been overweight ever since I was a child. I have tried and failed at many diets, or been successful only to gain all the weight plus some back. I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful son, and a fabulous set of parents. They are so supportive of the journey I am going to embark on, and that means the world to me. My friends and coworkers are also very supportive. I feel very lucky to have such a loving group of people around me. I had my first consultation with a surgeon who was a complete jerk. Long story short, he literally looked me square in the face when I told him my goal weight and said, "It's not going to happen, babe." Yes, at first, it angered me beyond belief. Now, though, it has given me even more motivation and strength to be successful with the band. I am at 370, and I want to get to 140. I know I can do it, and I am excited and nervous to get everything moving. I have my consultation with my new surgeon and I am pumped! Not so pumped about the liquid diet I have to start, but it will all be worth it...right? ;) So, nice to meet everyone, and I hope to make a lot of new friends going through the same journey I am!! :) Love to all!
