Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi Everyone I was banded in August and have not had much weight loss success at all, I have had 2 fills but am still hungry and can eat about the same amount as before. Total loss to date is about a stone, next fill is on Sunday and I hope that will help. I am off on holiday in 4 weeks and had hoped to be slightly slimmer by then, but as that hasn't happened yet I was thinking of doing some power plate sessions for inch loss, do u think they are safe or can they harm the lapband? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks MD -
Hi Everyone I have been banded since August and had 2 fills but not had much weight loss success yet. I am going on holiday in 5 weeks and some friends were really recommending the vibration training/power plate things for inch loss. As I have not told anyone about the lapband I couldn't ask this question there, but do you think it is ok for me to use the power plates or can they harm the lapband. A special offer is going on if you take a 4 week package at the moment but I didn't want to sign up without confirming if it was safe. Thanks MD

Hi everone I just thought that I'd give you all an update of my progress. I was banded on 12th of August and have unfortunately not been the person who dropped a drastic amount of weight. However, I have lost about 10 or 11 pounds, my appetite and eating capacity is about half of what it was earlier and I am hopeful that a steady 2 pound a week will see me reach goal weight in less than a year. However, for the last week I have noticed quite a lot of hairloss and am getting quite worried as I love my hair. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Good Luck to all who are going soon, its not a decision that u will regret. MD -

Hi Thanks for your best wishes. I am back and mostly feeling ok....just lot of pain in the port site. I am on liquids, soup, slimfast and the crispbread. Still feeling quite exhausted and rundown but hope to feel better every day. I met a lovely bunch of girls who were being banded on the same day and we had a laugh together. Julie, emma, jan, claire...I hope that all of u r recovering well. MD XX -

Hi Everyone Its finally feeling real....I am off tmrw evening for banding day after tnrw...as I won't get there till 9pm....my consultation is at 6.30am on day of banding!! has anyone else had that? Other than that, I am now getting butterflies in stomach, nerves....worries about packing and a thousand other things going on in my mind. I really do hope and pray that it all goes smoothly. I am also worried about a swollen stomach and some comments about looking pregnant....did the swelling occur for everyone??? I have a formal party to attend in 10 days time and would hate to have a swollen up stomach(pregnant looking) for that. All advise would be greatly appreciated. I will come back and let you all know how it went. Best wishes-MD -

Hi Everyone I have a week to go for my banding but I am so busy at work this week that haven't got the energy to feel nervous, I am sure by the weekend I will be a bag of nerves. Anyway, i just contacted wls for the after care and they are running the discounted package again and if you book in august, even if your 1st appt isn't in august, the 6 month package cost is £275 and starts from the date of the 1st appt. So, if anyone else wants to take advantage of the discounted rate, I thought that I would share the news. Although I claim to be not nervous, dreams of botched operations and what will happen to my kids if something happens to me and frequent bouts of tears are becoming frequent....so probably the unconsious mind is scared. Please keep your fingers crossed for me and say a prayer for me on the 12th. MD xx -

Hi Everyone I have now rcvd an email from Frederil confirming that a taxi will pick me up from Brussells Midi train station and bring me to the hotel but as I won't get there till 9 pm, he will see me at 6.30 am in the morning for a consult on the day of the banding.....I am going to be too anxious to sleep....if anyone else is there on the 11th August night for op on the 12th, please be on the lookout for size 16-18 asian girl with long dark hair....looking very lost and nervous... As the days are coming nearer, I am becoming such a mixed bag of emotions and even doubting the sanity of my decision....I hope that the band will help me and I will never have to regret the decision..... On a sidenote, even though have started eating low fat stuff...the volume that I have started eating is much bigger than usual....mind is feeling psychologically startved already, that I will never be able to eat this quantity again....lol....do I need a band or a shrink??? Good Luck to everyone else. -

Hi Am feeling a bit anxious as I transferred the deposit on 19th via HSBC and the bank said that it will get to Belgium in 2 working days, but Frederik hasn't confirmed that he has rcvd the deposit and hasn't responded to my last 2 emails....should i be worried??? Should I try calling him instead? Please advice as I am getting worried now. My date was booked for 12th of August, I have already booked eurostar but no confirmation from Frederik is making me anxious. -

Hi Laila I am having it with CBD on the 12th....I will probably be zonked out when u r having yours....good luck and hope it goes well.....I am glad to have found someone who'll be around on the same date as me.....as we can panic together (sometimes) and be supportive at others.... Also, It would be great to have a buddy who is at exactly the the same stage of their band journey as me. MD -

Thanks Freckles Your reply is very supportive and positive but I suppose the anxiety and fear of failure are feelings that all of us must have felt at some point and so what I am going through is some what normal i suppose.... I am travelling by Eurostar and reach Brussells at 8.30 pm, could someone please tell me how to continue the journey from there? Also, If I reach that late, will I be able to see Frederik or someone for a consult before the band next morning? I could not get an earlier train, as am working till afternoon(boss won't give me time off) and this was the only available one left....please advise. Have any of you reached late at night and stilll be seen? Apologies for so many questions. Thanks in advance for the replies that I am sure someone will give me. MD xx -

Hi Everyone Reading this forum helped me to finally decide to have the banding done and I have now paid the deposit and my date is booked for 12th of August. As hubby is not too keen for me to have it done and also can't accompany me bcoz of childcare issues, I am travelling alone. Now that deposit is given and eurostar is booked I am in panic mode....i keep thinking that I am going to be one of the minority for whom the band doesn't work, as I also have PCOS, my weight loss is always harder and slower as compared to others. Another question, how much does your stomach swell up after the operation?? is it quite obvious?? How long does it usually take for the swelling to go down?? As I have only told hubby and Mum and am coming back to work 4-5 days after the surgery, I am bit concerned about a swollen stomach. I might come back with a 100 more questions, please bear with me. I will also need reassurance in the coming days that only someone who has been through the experience can provide, so please do help me. Thanks to the 2 members who replied to my first post and advised me regarding money transfer and initial questions. MD xx -

Hi It is my first post although I have been reading the forum for a few days. I am going to be banded on the 12th of August by Dr Chris and have similar questions to the above post. I am travelling alone as hubby has to stay behind and look after the kids. I am also travelling by Eurostar. I would appreciate it if anyone else being banded on the 12th would get in touch as I am feeling bit alone and scared. Also, I am going to transfer the 500 euro deposit tmrw, any advice on what is the most cost effective way of doing this? I am 35 years old, BMI 34, weight nearly 15 stone and am hoping to get back to my original weight of 10.5 stone. Last question, after being banded on the 12th, do you think I will be well enough to attend a friend's 40th birthday bash on the 22nd. Thanks in advance.
