    Stomach?

I haven't had to take it since my lapband...but, Zegerid always worked great for me! It worked better for me than Nexium or Prilosec. =)

When did you see the difference?

I think you have all done great! I can't wait until I start really noticing my losses as well. Pictures do make a world of difference. I have lost 22 lbs. thus far and really couldn't tell until I seen a pic that was taken 1 wk pre op v/s a pic taken 1 mo. post op. Drastic change! =)
  3. That is awesome! I will be the first to admit...I didn't do squat on my 6 month diet. I lost 8 lbs. on my 10 day pre op diet (atkins style). The rest has been post op. I don't have much restriction right now...I have 3 cc's in my 14 cc band but, I have been really watching what I eat and exercising my butt off. I haven't done as great the last couple of days...but, I got myself back on track today. That is one good thing about this band...when you stray...you can't go totally crazy! LOL =) Thanks for the add and keep in touch! Good luck!

    Please help! I'm Stalled!!

I actually think you are doing quite well. Weight loss with the band is a slow process. Just think at the rate you are losing...you will have lost 100 lbs. give or take within a years time. That is progress!!!! Be proud of yourself!
  5. Thank you! I saw on your profile where you have lost 51 lbs. and your band was 8/13/2010. That is really great! How much of that was pre-op? How have you done it? I'm looking for all the advice I can get! =)

    Saying Good-bye to all

I think alot of you are being mean. If you don't like what someone posts just simply move on to the next one....that is what I do. Why be so mean spirited about it? I am fairly new to LBT.com but, I think you should continue doing whatever makes you feel better Patty! =) Kind of makes me think of the bullied that turns into bullies!

    First fill!

Today was my first fill as well! I was nervous but, it was no problem at all. No pain at all either. My doc put a little less than 3cc's in my 14cc AP Large band under fluoroscopy. I feel great and I am excited! I have lost 22 lbs. since June 28, 2010 with my surgery having took place on July 8, 2010. I can't wait to see how much I lose now that I have some restriction! Good luck to you on your journey! Add me and we can be fill buddies! =) My next appointment is September 28, 2010. __________________

    band poisons me

Sorry to hear you are going through that. To be quite honest, it sounds alot like what I go through when I have a "Fibromyalgia" flare-up. You might also want to have your doc test you for Epstein-Barr Virus. During one of my most severe bouts I tested positive for it and absolutely felt like I was dying. It lasted about 2 months and then went away after many steroids/pounds gained later! =( Hope you get some answers and start feeling better!

    Any July Bandsters??

Hi everyone! I was banded July 8th and I go for my first fill Aug. 19th. I am super excited and I can't wait. So far, I have been able to lose 18 lbs. with an empty AP 14cc band. I am so looking forward to getting my fill so I will be able to hopefully cut my portions in half. I have been working out daily and eating alot healthier...so, if I can just get my portion size down I will be doing really great. Good luck with everybody's journey! Feel free to add me as a friend to those who want a band buddy! =)
  15. Dr. Stephen Britt did my surgery. He is a great doctor and I am very happy having chose him to do my lapband. I had my surgery on July 8th and go for my first fill Aug. 19th...which is this week! I am very excited because, the weight I have lost so far is with my band empty...so, I can just imagine my progress once I get a fill. But, I must say...I have definitely worked for it...I go to the gym at least 2-3 days a week and walk at least 1 mile a day..often times more. Once I get my portion size down with the fill I should lose better. I have learned though that you have to be sure to get enough calories in or else your metabolism shuts down. So, for now I have been getting in around 1352 calories a day...give or take a few each day. I started out at 316 lbs. and I am currently 298 lbs. since July....so, not too bad. I am pleased. Good luck with your journey and feel free to chat with me anytime! =)

boy do I need my fellow bandsters to help with dillema

Thank you! I have always "carried my weight" pretty good. At 198, I was wearing a size 11 jeans. I will be happy just to get back to that one day! I don't go for my first fill until the 19th. So, right now my band is empty...but, I can still feel the difference in tightness at different times. I can only imagine how it will be once I get it filled. I have really got to slow it down and chew! Or else I am going to be in trouble! By the way...you are doing a great job already losing 28 lbs. Keep up the good work! Add me on facebook if you are on there and also a great website I found to use for tracking my meals and exercise is called www.livestrong.com under the dailyplate section. It has been a wonderful tool for me to keep myself accountable. Good luck and keep in touch! =)

    Speed Eater!!!

I eat entirely too fast as well. I think it all started for me when my kids were little and I had to hurry up and eat before they woke up or needed something. Well, they are teenagers now and for some reason I just continued eating that way. I was banded on July 8th and get my first fill Aug. 19th...right now I haven't had many problems since my band is empty...but, I know I am definitely going to have to slow it down when I get my fill. It is really something I have to concentrate on though. Hopefully, I can change this bad habit! Good luck to you! =)

    not motivated

You have actually done quite well on your weight loss to have not been exercising! Just imagine what you would lose once you started getting active. I walk at least a mile a day and I can really tell when I skip a day. My back hurts now when I don't work out...it's strange because my back used to hurt when I did anything besides lay around. Well, I'm impressed with your weight loss and I look forward to when I get to 40lbs. + lost! :cursing:

    Anyone else have pain/burning sensation?

I was banded on July 8th. and I had the same burning/stinging sensation around my port incision. It's now completely gone and I really can't even tell my port is there now other than when I push on that area right there. But, I am able to sleep on my stomach and all. I did have to take 10 days of Bactrim because at about week 2 post op my port incision started oozing but, the antibiotics cleared it right up! My doctor did tell me that the stinging feeling was where the port was stitched to my abdominal muscle and it was healing. Guess he was right...because I don't feel it now! Good luck!

boy do I need my fellow bandsters to help with dillema

I was banded July 8th and I notice there are definitely times when my band is much tighter than others. Especially in the mornings, during my monthly cycle, and when I am stressed. Not sure why that is...it just is with me. There are also times I can eat just about anything with no problems...then all of a sudden I can't eat something. Like chicken...I can eat it grilled, baked...just fine...but, I tried a chicken finger and it literally shot right back up my throat like my body had just straight up rejected it! That was the craziest thing thus far that has happened to me. So, not too bad. Just takes some getting used to! Good Luck! =)

    July banders-work together

Sorry, to say...but, laying in bed until today is probably what your problem is. You have to get moving each and every day. The more you walk...the more your body will dissipate the gas. Good luck though..and I can say that Gas X really helped me out alot through the first couple of weeks! :cursing:
