    Denied over 12 pounds!

Hello fellow Wisconsin friend, I had talked with you awhile back when I was having trouble getting financed, as you can see I got my band, I had to travel out to Denver but I got it! Keep at them, you are so close to being banded with all your doc appointments done and the fact that through all of this you were able to give up smoking and stick with it. You can do it:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Best Wishes, Sunnysea

  3. SunnySea, how are you feeling now that it's been a few days? Do you feel like things are where they need to be? Are you still having trouble or do you feel like you need more of a fill? Have a great day everyone...hope everyone is getting along well! Hi Woofay, I'm back to normal today, I will need a fill soon! I sure don't want to go thru that ever again. It's amazing that you don't realize how good you feel until you're sick like that, it was untollerable sp? for 12 hours with it getting worse and worse. I'm just physically + emotionally drained from this and the job thing, only 2 people from work have called to see how I was doing! so much for so called friends.:cry I'll be ok, probably better off in the long run, even my Doc says it's good i'm out of there. Back to the fill, I will get this band working again, just slower next time! I'm not looking forward to the ER bills but live and learn, life goes on. I'm happy to hear that everything is good with you except alittle itching! I thank God I have all of my Dr. K bandster friends to talk to. Sunnysea

    Band too full too soon?

Hi, There are all differant views on this, I have the same size band and was told that it actually can hold 5 to 6 cc. I just had my 1st fill on 4/16 of 2.25 and the next day I had .9 put in. To make a long story short, I agravated it and had to have a full unfill done on 4/18, all they could get out was 2.5 !?!? I think the silicone must absorb some of the moisture:confused: Sunnysea

    The great PROTEIN DEBATE...

Hi again, I agree with you Jacqui on the drinks if they contain alot of soy, I have to look into that better because I do suffer from an underactive thyroid, I was just reading something about soy and the thyroid. But on the subject of high protien and low carb I wasn't suggesting that, I should have made myself clearer, I was told to eat a variety from all the food groups at mealtime. And 60 grams isn't high, just the recommended:confused: It's what works for each I guess, just like raising kids. Take Care, Sunnysea

    The great PROTEIN DEBATE...

Hi Krystal, I just saw my nutritionist this week and had expressed how I had fallen away from my protien drinks. She and doc want me to drink 1 protien drink between each meal the last one is to be before bed, 3 total. Each drink should be between 100-150 or so cal. with at least 15 grams of protien per serving. She explained that in the small amount of food that we consume while losing weight that there is no way we could get in the recomened 60 grams. Makes since to me, and may help keep your hunger at bay between meals. What they don't want you consuming is high calorie meal replacements like Ensure,etc.... I don't see how it could hurt as long as you are still consuming healthy meals at mealtime. Sunnysea

    February 2007 bandsters!

Hi Oldgiesser, Congratulations on your recent weight loss, I just want you to read something I had just posted today under (Docters+Hospitals) and then it is the 640th post under (Considering DR. Kirshenbaum) sorry i just don't have the energy to re-post it. I just don't want you to move too quickly with your next fill if you are losing ok. Good Luck, Sunnysea
  10. Dynamo........ Lapdancer.........+Angie, So happy that everything went well with your surgeries, Tator TOO. Lapdancer and Angie it was great meeting you both, I am so happy that I asked everyone if they talked on Lapbandtalk, Lapdancer you made my day getting up and giving me a big hug, lol. It was so neat to meet + talk to you both, I also met a great lady that I talked to for quite awhile on Monday after lapdancer went in for her visit, ofcourse I talked my head off to Lapdancers husband he was probably realived when I left, what can I say I have the gift of gab when i'm passionet about something like the lapband. I wasn't going to wait until I got home and then think maybe I should have asked who everyone was. Each day that I saw Dr. K I would ask him how his surgeries had went that day and he would ask me why? and I said because they are my friends from LBT! He would say good, and on Tuesday he said that it just took abit longer than usual, was this yours Lapdancer? Take care everyone, Sunnysea
  11. Hi Woofay, Sorry this has scared you, just keep in mind the situation that I should have stuck to clear fluids after my 1st stuck situation and everything probably would have been ok. I truely do think that liquids for 1 day and then mushies would be a better aproach after a fill. It's certainly a learning experiance, I had never had any trouble before getting stuck that night. And my 1st meal went down real easy!?!? Take care just don't be to aggressive with your fills, I live so far away that I wanted to be pretty full but then I agitated it. Live+Learn, I still love my band, Sunnysea
  12. Hi Angie, It was me (Sunnysea) I just got home late yesterday and had quite an ordeal so I am just getting to read everyone's posts. How are you? I'm better now but my trip home was hell! My story-On Monday I had my 1st fill, it was 2.25 and that evening and the next day I didn't feel any restriction. So on Tuesday I had another fill of .9 and went out to my car and consumed 3oz. of tuna on 4 crackers with no problem, then I shopped the night away:) . At my hotel later I ate a few bites of a South Beach turkey+cheese roll-up, within minutes I had chest pain, nausea,+mega salvia for about 15 min. So I went to bed and was up at 3am to get ready to catch my flight at 6:30. The mistake I made was at 6:00 eating a few bites of egg, oh yah also I was able to drink water before this. Well to try to make a very long story alittle shorter I went into a restroom and put my arms above my head and burped and spit, then I felt better. On the flight to Milwaukee I tried 1 sip of coffee thinking that something warm would help open me up, no go! In Milwaukee I had a long wait until my flight so I tried to lay down, well as time went I became worse and worse. I went in the restrooms only to have the stupid toilet flushing and splashing me every other second, so I had to use the sinks to spit. I was in great pain and could not keep my own saliva down, a women asked me if I was ok and I explained everything, she proceeded to rub my back and try to get me to relax, I felt that she could go but she insisted to stay by my side. This would come and go so I didn't know what to do, eventually I went into Midwest bestcare area and they called the paramedics to look at me, believe or not my blood pressure was ok but I was starting to dehydrate. Then I was feeling better for quite awhile so I took my flight back to Green bay and my husband had his sister drive him to GB so that he could drive my car+me home. I did call Dr. K when I was in Milwaukee and he said that I should find a Raideolgist to take some out but if the pain was ok I could fly to GB. On that flight it got worse and I had to use a bag to spit in, in GB we went to Walmart to get some aloe vera juice, well one sip and it only got worse. I also had been in contact with my general Dr. and headed right there hoping she could contact a Dr. to relieve this for me, she sent me to our emergency room because I was getting worse. At the ER. they took my info and sent me to wait, well soon after I started to dry heve and they finally took me in and started an IV. No one would touch me as far as an unfill, the ER Doc said he had a DR. on the phone that could help me, then he said it was Dr. Kimmerling the doc that I was orginally going to have my band with but I could not come up with the cash, and the one that would not take me for after care at $1,500 dollars for the year until I was 1 year out from surgery. I got on the phone with him and once he figured out who I was he started raging at me that I only wanted to save money by going out to Denver and look at the situation I got my self into and the bad situation I had put him into! I slammed the phone down on him and said that I would'nt be putting him in any situation! At that point i was hysterical, tired, and just plain hopeless, mind you just days before this I had walked out of my job and told the ASSistant manager that she could find someone else to kiss her ASS! So on top of all this I am unemployed. I really am a soft spoken person that lets everyone stomp on me, well i have had enough! I called Dr. K and he could not believe that no one would let him talk them through this easy procedure, the docs at Marinette did have the correct needle but the doc in Green Bay said that they did'nt. The Er doc said that in time it could cause lack of blood flow to my stomach and eventually could cause death so he talked me into driving back to GB ER and have the doc take some out. The Er in Marinette gave me something to calm me down and I was able to sleep on the hour drive to GB. I met with DR. Kimmerling and he took out 2.5 and we talked and settled things. On the day I went back to get more fill I was told that I should have eaten 1/2 of a cup of solid food after my fill so that I could tell how it was instead of the soup and string cheese that I had eaten, so that is whyI ate the tuna and continued to eat other stuff. Looking back I probably was pretty full but it would have been ok if I hadn't eaten anything after having the stuck situation happen the night before, I just could not keep straight what I was suppose to do! On line here everywhere they say liquids for a day and then mushies for a day. I am ok now but very poor and emotionally a wreck. Sunnysea
  13. DynamoMini and LapDancer, Good luck with your surgerys in the next couple of days. You probably won't get to see this before you go in but just know that i am praying for both of you. I fly to Denver in the morning for my fill, got to get a few ZZZZ's, bye, Sunnysea
  14. Woofay, It took me along time to understand how to do this too. First you open a second web page, one with tickerfactory on it and the other with lapbandtalk. Go to user CP at the the left upper corner of this site and go into edit your signature. Then right click on your ticker and press copy, then click on your ticker and drag it down to lapbandtalk, the screen with your box to edit will pop up and just drag the circle into the box and let go. Your ticker should be there now, then lower down on that page just press save signature. I hope this helps you, I have never been trained how to work all this little extra stuff that can be done on a computer, just play around with it alittle. Other people have helped me on line here. Good luck, Sunnysea
  15. Woofay, Congratulations on being banded! Did you have your surgery at the surgical center across from Dr. K's office or in Parker? Glad to hear everything went well, take care, Sunnysea
  16. Tator Bug, OMG i'm so sorry to hear this, just wasn't expecting any problems. I will pray for you and hope that you will be feeling better soon. I guess the only good thing is that now they know that you cannot have that tube down your throat, if this would have been surgery for an immeadiate trama that they had to get in this could have had a diff devastating outcome. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Sunnysea
  17. Woofay, Best wishes to you today, you will soon be in Band Land! Keep us posted, Sunnysea........... I Love Mine:)
  18. Good Night Tater Bug, Lets us know how everything went when your up to it. Sunnysea

  21. Thanks guys..... For all your info on the Cherry Creek Mall, they have a Easy Spirit Store there and I need a pair of shoes for work, we had a store in WI but it is gone now. I know that I could order them on the internet, I just wanted to try them on. I hate buying ugly black sneakers for work but they are comfortable, maybe I should be asking if there is a Outlet Mall in the area, seeing I won't be resting in the sun! ................ Terry R, I was banded on Feb 28th so this fill is 6 weeks out for me and I am very ready!.................Woofay+Tator Bug everything will be fine, good luck to you on Friday, Dr. K. knows his way around Lapastropic (sp?) Surgery................Mal+Spot, Welcome to the Kirshenbaum Banders!...............And Dynamo+LapDancer your day is almost here:clap2: I have to get ready for work, talk to you later, Sunnysea
  22. WasBubbleButt, This seems to be such a defensive subject for you, I know that you can't blame all Mexico Dr's for what has happened but the girl is angry, scared, and just wanted to vent, just like you did, we get your point. My father died of a massive staff infection 6 months after having his hip replaced in the states, infact it was in Texas. At that time I didn't have much faith in the Dr's in Texas because of the lack of laws for these surgeons further education. Staph is everywhere I know, my father wasn't treated with antibiotics after surgery, now you could argue that we didn't do our homework, this was before internet. We pay Dr's to do their job, thinking that they will. We all can't be Dr's,Nurses,Lawyers,etc.... or have friends that are, or know everything. The thing that stands out in my mind legally is when this went to court the Lawyers blamed the whole infection on dental work my father had done years ago in Mexico and got away with it. I know the world is getting worse, nobody takes responsability for any of their actions. Some of us are too trusting, I know that isn't good. Sunnysea
  23. A question for Colorado banders who live near the Denver area, is the Cherry Creek Shopping Mall safe at night in that area? Any recomendations on where to shop????? I hope the weather is better by Monday, I had this vision of me getting some rays by the pool!?!? Am I dreaming or can you never tell what it will be like from day to day. Sunnysea
