Hi all not been on for a very long time but just wanted ro share that I have just cracked my 101 pound goal had my opp on aug 11 last year so j am pleased how it's gone Must say though I do miss the weeks when I lost 5-6 pound now it's good if I can lose 1 pound every 14 days but never give up. I am now in xl clothes instead of 3xl and wear a 18 instead of a 23 shirt. Trousers are now 40" instead of 53" and I also manages a 4 mile run a few says ago. All said a life changing experience That I can recommend, could I gave done it without the band NO chance so if your wondering if it's for you then my experience is posative It is 20% lapband and 80% PMA. Best wishes all

Hi I had a hernia repair whilst having the op, when you read the surgery info book for your band it states in there it must be done if found during surgery. Still the hernia opp is about 2k so not bad value when you get it done for free. Never know I had one but after the repair I never suffered heartburn again. Never looked back since my lap band opp. Shopping g is so much fun

Luckly for me she gave it back to me. I suspect dr chris played a part but I am not 100% sure. I got cancelled the day before but I still turned up the next day and paid the hospital fees direct when got there. Dr chris seemed quite annoyed by the whole thing and I suspect he put some pressure on her to return my money. Either way a good result i thought I had seen the last of my money.

Hi all been a while off for my first fill next week really happy with my weight loss so far 48lb In total and still going strong, the band has given me the focus to stick to a low fat diet and any time I have gone to stuff my face without thinking I get a nasty reminder from the band. It has changed the way I think about food and so far I cannot say anythi g negative about the whole experience of having a lap band fitted. All I can say to anyone have it done shortly is good luck and be ready to accept a big change to your life, for me I have never been so posative in my life and look forwArd to every day. Regards all.

It does take a lot of food to maintain. My figure, mainly hi fat foods so the new liquid diet has had a dramatic effect. I lost 3 stone on the Cambridge diet in 18 days so I always lose quick to start with. You watch nex t week I will not lose so I will enjoy while I can

Brought back a few boxes from Belgium, bought the Swiss crisp breads from sainsbury today these are better as they dissolve completely. Stocked up on weight watcher soups and Philly cheese also and bought some honey to have on my natural yogurt in the morning. Also bought some fat free yog and sugar free jelly. That basically my diet for the next two weeks Quite nice really and the set honey sorts out any sweet tooth you may have and no fat

Hi I am just the same can only manage 400 cals at the moment, have included a slim fast drink to give mire energy, I guess as the swelling goes down the cals will increase with the increased quantity of food. I am having a dose of hay-fever at the moment let me tell you I am in a world of pain when I sneeze. I quite like the crisp breads we had the day after surgery and have carried on with these and some sugar free jams for breakfast. Dinner is a about six spoon full of soup and tea is the same, with a few small cups of black coffee. Do get a lot of cramps after eating also. Still i know this all gets better every day that passes.

How many men are on here, I read something interesting in a book on lap bands, the doctor said you never see an old fat man, why do more men not have this done? I for. One am excited for the future, if you had asked me a few months ago I would have told you did not have one. But now I can see better times ahead, just need to stop waking up at 2am and writing emails.........

Hi, all back at the hotel now from hospital bed to hotel garden drinking a nice strong black coffee, guess that says it all. The night after surgery was bloody awful and has now been sent to the memory bin. I must say the whole thing has not been to bad just watch out for the drink before the xray it went through me in 10mins. I am lucky my wife came with me and has helped me through this, I take my hat off to the two ladys that came on there own, very brave. Well time to chill before the trip home in the morning, good luck to the next bandsters do not worry it is not as bad as you may think Regards

Hope radley not had the same problem as I have had today, I am used to dealing With this level off stress but for some it would be completly devastating. The whole situation is bizare the surgeon has been paid and the hotel, just the hospital has not, they claim they are in the middle of a take over by another company and that's why the payment was not made, to be honest I have heard it all before so I am not holding my breath, glad I paid with my credit card they tell me I am covered and will open a dispute. Perhaps all I have been told is true, but the let down before I took over the situation was imense, I suffer high blood pressure and needed to find a quite room for a bit before I ruined someones day at work. Well off to brussells hope Fredrick ready for a chat on what this company is doing to DR CHris reputation, after all they are representing him. And it will reflect poorly on him if he choses to continue this relationship with a company that plays with patient care in this way. See you all later.

Well the comments re Tullia have put me in a bit of a spin, must say I have had good service so far, the lack of information when you book seems to be a common theme must say I did approach CDB team direct and moved over to tullia when I was asked to pay cash on the day. I felt uncomfortable with this. She has contacted me a few times to confirm payment and diet, but generally I have not found an aggressive aproach from her. I will speak to her tuesday and check all is well. Radley are you ok with the feedback you got today?

Was doing fine until I booked into a pub for the last week as I am working away, mind you I am sure beer is low fat!!? Must admit have a few nerves but am looking forward to it. Think the wife is more concerned then me, I swear she thinks we are going to a third world country for surgery. She has worked for the Nhs for the last 20 years and still believes it is world class.

Well said, it does take guts to make a change like this, it easy to ignore our weight situation as that's what most of us have done so far. It's taken me a long time to relies that I am not going to be Slim this time next year as every time I have started on a diet this has been my belief, only to crash out of my diet after week 2 or 3. Good luck and I will see any one thats getting banded on the 6th Aug.
