Sue--when I was unable to eat the scrambled eggs I was not really hungry. I just new I was going to have a physical day of working in the yard, so I though I should eat some protein. When it felt stuck at noon, I was still not really hungry, just wanted to test the band and see how tight it was. The "stuck" feeling I had was not really a pain, more like a pressure. It felt a little like someone was sitting on my chest. The slime that I had was not as thick as I thought it would be, it was just mouth-fulls of saliva. After I spit them out, I was fine, nothing else came up and the pressure was gone! I had only had a few bites of egg, so maybe the pressure/slime would have been worse if it was something more solid or if I would have ate more of it...who knows?I never felt hungry at all yesterday--although I was able to eat a banana, protein bar and strawberries yesterday without any trouble. Today I am going to try to eat some meat and see how that goes... Kathy--June 10th will be here before you know it! It is amazing to see the effect of 2 cc's...I hope Dr Miller is as aggressive as Dr Choban. (although, MidOhio seems to follow the lapband guidelines to a T)

Kathy--I have a total of 6.5cc in my 14cc band...and HOLY COW!!! I could tell the first two day of liquids and muchies that there was "something" there. I had not really felt the band before this. So this am I tried scrambled eggs--no way. Not going anywhere...so I waited a few hours (I have heard that mornings can be a little tighter) and tried again around noon...I took three bites and knew I had to stop. I got up and jumped in the car to head to Lowes...and had to run back into the house to go to the bathroom. I never threw up, but I know what the "slime" thang is now! I felt better after about a minute and was able to go about my shopping. I am getting ready to try something else for lunch...something a little less dry! I let you know how it goes...but for now, I am learning a ton about my band!

I'm Baaaaaaaaaack! Had another great/quick visit with Dr Choban. She is the most amazing doctor I have been around (and I have seen a ton). She was pleased with my 6 lbs wt loss. I, on the other hand, was a little embarassed. I told her about my dinner problems, and she was supportive. Suggested finishing my protein first (before I eat 2 rolls, ya, I was completely honest) and get up and walk before I make the decision to eat them. She was glad to hear that I attended the emotional support group and said that the band fixes the hungry feeling, but the head hunger is something the support group will help with. All in all, nothing I have not heard before, just good to hear again. She gave me two more cc's. I was pleased with that. oh, and she is going on vacation (how dare she???lol) so my next fill is not until July 27th. Yikes, that seems so far away, but I am ok with it....atleast today I am...we will see what July brings!

Sarah--XL scrub top, WOW! I am still in 2x, but I hope that is going to change soon! You are doing really well, you should be proud! I keep thinking that everything is relative...your eating might not be perfect, but compared to where it was 4 months ago, it is a huge step in the right direction!!! My fll is at 10:45. I have to work tonight, and still be on liquids...that is always fun. I think I am going to stop by Wally World and get some slim fast. I am keeping my fingers crossed with this fill. I just need a little help getting through dinner. I do REALLY well until then, but my dinner is WAY to big. I Dont eat after dinner, but I still eat more cals during dinner that I should. I will keep everyone updated!

ND--Yah for you! Today is the day!!! TM--I know that what ever you decision you make is the right one for you! I am just excited to hear all about your journey! Lyn--I know this part of the the road feel all up hill...hang in there...the end is in sight!!! I go tomorrow for my next fill. I am a little worried that I have not lost much weight from my last fill, and they might be upset with me. Heck, I guess I am a little upset with myself. I am looking at this next fill, and the liquid/muchies that follow, to jump start the scale moving again!

You are on your way now, Joy!!! Congrats!!! TM--Have you heard anything yet?
  10. Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I went to the group and had a really good time. There were three other women there (all had GBP) going through all of the same stuff we are! It was nice to talk about problems we are having and bounce it off of each other! The group is open to anyone who want to come. It is free and you don't have to be banded at Mt Carmel. You just have to call and sign up by the Monday before. I will post next months meeting and maybe more of you can attend!
  11. Hey guys, I just signed up to go to the emotional support group tomorrow night. I am having more trouble with the "head Hunger" and Melissa said this should help! It is free, but you have to call 234-life and let them know you are coming. The meeting is from 6-7pm---Hope to see some of you guys there!

ND--have you been to the nutrition class where they give you the protein shake recipes? They will help with hunger while on liquids!

51Lbs lost since Surgery March 7th

Innertube, I am so proud of you for taking the time (and money) to do that for yourself (and hubby). I am learning, slowly, that we need to focus more of our energy on what makes us feel good! PLEASE post pics so we can see how things turnned out!

What is your average weekly loss?

wow guys, that is great! I was banded March 12th and had lost 30lbs before my first fill on April 29th. Since that fill I have only lost another pound! I know that the last few weeks I have gotten away from tracking on fitday, so I am sure that is partly to blame. I am going to really try to get another few pounds off before my second fill on May 29th!

Lyn--My journey started in 10/06 during open enrollment. I checked with both my DH's insurancecompany and Mt Carmel's (I work at East) and both told me it was a covered surgery. I only work part time at East so I decided to go with DH's coverage. (I called 5 different time, talked to 5 different people and all said it was a covered sx) That January, (07) I finished all pre-op stuff and sent in for approval. I was told at that time it was an "exclusion" to the policy. I tried to appeal, gave all the dates and people I had talked to, but I was out of luck. I thought about paying out of pocket, but I just could not do that working part time with two little ones at home. I decided to wait until open enrollment 10/07 and pick up Mt Carmel insurance. In Jan of 08 they sent back in all of my info and was approved in two days! It was a long wait, but well worth it! I am not sure why I was given all that false info...I just know that eveything happens for a reason, and I feel blessed to be where I am today!
  17. I don't think so. I would just call 234-life and tell them you want to sign up for the emotional support group. It is worth a try! I hope to see you there, Jill!

I vote to try the miralax! I have heard wonderful things about it, and it is something safe to take everyday. Good luck!

Sarah--How was your DD Bday? One more year til she hits the road, right? That is enough to spark stress-eating!!! KT--Glad to hear you are doing well. I like in Canal, but I work at East, so I might be able to meet you somewhere for a morning walk after work! Special K--I am so proud of you! You are really an inspiration to keep that food journal. I have been bad the last two weeks and I have not lost anymore either....maybe that is bc I stopped writing in the journal. I am going to start again today and try to get the scale moving before my second fill next week!

    Pizza, Steak, and Ground Beef

I have only had one fill, and I am not at my "sweet spot" yet, but all of these foods work so far for me. I guess I will have to wait until my next fill and see what that does for me. Good luck

ya, uh, ok, so when I called for my fill appt, they asked when I wanted it...and I said that last week of May. I know I am a bad girl, but I knew I was not getting much restriction, so I went for it. Shhhh, don't tell anyone. :-)
  22. I think my favorite spot is my ankles. Crazy huh? I was just glad finally have them back now that I am not full of Water weight. My least fav is my belly. I'm an apple, too...and this time my tummy isn't responding as quickly to the weight loss. I am hoping the next 50 lbs will fix that!
  23. I am so sorry that you had such a terrible experience! I can't imagine how scared you must have felt! I would write a letter to the higher-ups at the hospital, and request a meeting to present your side of the the situation. If you don't get anywhere with them I would contact local news stations and fill them in on the terrible treatmemt you recieved. That would make the hospital listen to you for sure!

    Would You Wear a Mini-skirt?

I vote "heck ya!" I think fingertip-length is perfect. Just enough to show off your legs, but not too short that you have to make sure you are "groomed" well. LOL

Congrats ND! That is such great news! TM--any news yet? I am keeping you in my prayers! Sue--The restriction I felt the first few days is gone. I am ready for another fill. I am hungry in the afternoon/evenings and eat way too much at dinner. I think if I could slow dinner down, I would start losing again! I go for my second fill on May 29th, and I am excited to see what that does for me!
