Good Mornin' Marchers! Just checking in before I get started today! I love how many people are active on this thread! (although it does make it a little difficult for a newbie like myself) Fenton--Welcome home! You were missed by many while you were gone; that says a lot about the type of person you are! Oh, and although it is hard to see the scale move in the other direction, a few pounds is prob Water weight, and will be back off before you know it! Sugar Bean & Tess--I am looking at joining you next week on the program, as long as my back will allow me to do it! I have been down for 3 weeks, and need to get moving again! Better run for now...my kids must have realized I was on the puter, so the fighting has begun!!!

Hey guys! Hope everyone is dealing with Monday morning alright. I am really draggin'. I went back to work Sat night (my back is about 80% better) and had a party for my college friends Sunday, so morning time came too early for me today! Oh, had my first expierence with the flu bug after banding, too. Thank goodness it was only diarrhea. (who would have ever thought I would say that) Feeling much better now. Have a great day!

Angie--Yah! I am so happy for you! I can't wait to hear all the details of your journey! oh, and my face is where I see the most difference, by far. I am not sure about anyone else, but the weight is coming off much differently this time. I was in a much smaller size clothes the last time I weighted this much...oh well, at least the scales are moving in the right direction! Kathy--I think 3 oz of steak, 1/2 of a salad and 1/2 of a potato is pretty close to your sweet spot! That can not be much more than a cup of food, and I wouldn't think you would want to eat much less than that! Woot for the NSV, too! Lyn--Glad to hear you are having such a great vacation! Good luck on Wednesday! Mushies will taste better than you can imagine! -
Rhonda--You are doing so well! I can't even imagine how much better you have to be feeling! What an inspiration. Tess--I think that eating while on vacation is fine, as long as we don't do it to the point of making ourself sick. I think it becomes a problem if we continue to eat like we are on vaction after we are home. It is easy to do, but it looks like you got a hold of it before it was out of control--that is a victory! SugarBean--I was doing the couch program after surgery, and loved it. I have gotten away from it--no reason why--but YOU have motivated me to try it again, Thanks!

Glad to hear your fill went well Kathy! 2 more cc's is great! I am going to ask about seeing Dr Miller if I can't get a 6 week appt with Dr Choban. -
Harley--you look fab!!! And your daughter is stunning, too! I hope when my daughter is that age, she will still want to hang out with me at the zoo...it says a lot about the kind of MOM you are! K Pod-Two months??? That is a crazy difference! A Dub-You are looking HOT! (just like the guy in your before pic :-) ) Hard to believe there is only a 35 lbs difference! Tess- I agree, 20 years younger! And I love the new do' too! WCM-You DD's are beautiful! (Just like their Mama) Most of these pics are a few months old...how about another update guys?!?!? I am going to have my DH get me a few pics together to post. (he is the computer guy, not ME) It is going to be a huge deal for me, I have ran from cameras for soooo long!

March Bandsters How Many Fills ?
nurse niki replied to julietj1970's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I find this thread really interresting! I wonder why there is such a difference between doctors and how they handle fills. I was banded on 3/12, and have had 2 fills so far. My first fill was under floro (sp?) and was 4.5cc, my second was in the office and was 2 cc for a total of 6.5 cc in a 14cc band. I find that the only restriction I have is in the am. My next fill is Thursday, so I am praying I have more luck then! -
Wow, you guys sure do have a busy thread! I was gone for a weekend and a ton of new info to catch up on...I love it!!! First on the fill-thang...I understand that we need to trust our doctors, but when they flub up and not have you drink the barium after 3cc are put into a 10 CC band, it makes it a little hard. I hope everyone is at a comfortable fill level now, and are able to eat a healthy diet. Special K--I would be happy with what ever Dr Miller deciedes. He seems to be an amazing doctor, and it sounds like you are almost at your Sweet Spot. Not fair that you are getting your fill before me! :-) Protein--I have been told that as we are losing weight, we need 70 gms/day. Not hard to do, if you are still trying to get to that sweet spot! BNL-I feel your pain. This weekend has not been one of my better weekends as a bandster! Let's get back on the waggon tomorrow!!!

TM--Thanks for the prayers! I was at the pool today and it seemed to make things a little better...I think I am going to try to go every day this week and maybe I will be ready for work on Thursday I wish my doctor would have given my vicodin, all I got was "take some tylenol, and try the flexeril before bedtime!" -

Seebs-Congrats on the 82 lbs! That is awesome! I would call the office back and ask to be put to the voice mail of Diana/Diane. She is the one that can work majic and get you in. I was going to leave her another message, but my appt is next week anyways, so I will just hang in there. Lyn--Glad you are home and things are going better! Patty--congrats -
Amanda--You would be surprised how big they are these days. lol. I really think it was from bending over helping new mom's learn to breastfeed! It kills me, and can last for hours on end! Lisa--That is funny! I hope they didn't say anything too bad about me!?!? Do you attend the Mt Carmel support groups? WCM--7.5 lbs in a month is Great! You should be proud!

BNL--Have we ran into each other at Mt Carmel before?

Thanks for the warm welcome! It can be hard to find a group to fit in with around here. At times I feel like a kid back in high school with all of the groups! Anyway, I am a Mommy to two very busy children, married to my college sweetheart, work part time as a maternity nurse...and have been banded since March 12th! I have had two fills, for a total of 6.5cc's. It has been 7 weeks since my last fill, and I am READY for another. I am in LOVE with my band, but I am ready for that sweet spot, so we can get this show on the road. I have lost 41 lbs, and I am happy with that, but it is time to pick up the pace now. I hurt my back last week at work, so no exercise for me until next week, so I am bummed with that. Thanks again for the warm welcome!

I just got this cook book from the library. I am excited to give it a try!

Hello Marchers! I have been following several threads on this website, but am starting to think that this is where I need to be! I think it will work better for me if I find people who are at the same stage of the jouney as I am. Hope you don't mind me jumping in!

Shamrocks - Lets share personal goals to accomplish by March 2009!
nurse niki replied to Tess415's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love reading all of your goals! Here are a few of mine... 1. To have lost 100 lbs 2. To be able to run (not walk) a 5k 3. Feel more confident and sexy 4. Being living my life as a mother/wife (not just watching from the sidelines) 5. Be able to ride that damn Froggie Jump thing with my daughter! I guess this list could go on forever, and maybe it should, but I will stop here for now. -
Great Job Marchers!!! Let's keep it up!

I guess Debbie is a year out now, so that makes sense. They should have the ability to schedule three months out, unless they didn't have vacation schedules from the doctors yet. Either way, call now Debbie! -

Lyn--Sending love and prayers to you today! Best luck for a speedy recovery! Debbie--I would call now!!! I am not sure why they said for you to come back in three months. Are you at your sweet spot? I thought we were getting fills every 6 weeks. I called over a week ago and left a message about getting in for a fill. My appointment is not for a few weeks and would love to have it a little earlier. (It has already been 7 weeks since my last fill) No one has called me back. I am doing ok, but could really use a little help. I am not feeling much restriction at this point. Hope everyone is enjoying the summer! -

Angie--Happy BDay! I know that things are not going on a timeline you hoped for, but hang in there! Your 40's are going to be so much better than your 30's...just wait and see. Don't give up on Charlene, call her every day--twice! You are in my prayers! -

Amy--You look AMAZING! I think you have the hot bod we are all working for...thanks for the inspiration! -
Hope you are feeling better! I can only imagine how hard it is to just do nothing, after being so active the last year! Your new pics are GREAT!
-
WOW! That is unbelievable! Look how tiny you are!!! It is hard to imagine that you were ever heavy. You have to feel so proud of yourself! What a great inspiration!
