    Talk with myself

Today I had to have "the talk" with myself. I said "Self, why aren't you losing weight?" She answered honestly, "I haven't worked out in a week. I have lost my motivation, and I am sneeking food." I know who my worst enemy is. There is no justification for slacking. If you are tired, get on the treadmill, if you are hungry, drink some water or eat a protien bar. Come on Sheri! I have lost 57 pounds since my surgery on June 30th, 2010. It is the most I have ever lost and I feel like I am stuck. I know this is not satisfaction because I have 110 more to go. So I say, "Self, strap on those shoes, make your weekly plan and pull your head out of your rear! You've got work to do today!"

    I did it!!

You have no idea what an inspiration you are. I have been back and forthing with training for my first 5k. I say to myself it's ok to walk it, you're a fat girl. But you have inspired me to start the running again. You made me cry and I need that. Your amazing! Thank you!

    unsure

I was banded on 6/30/10 and when I went to my post-op appointment, my doctor said that I would most likely be on "regular" foods by the time that I had my first fill and he ok'd me to go to soft mushy foods. I have been eating a lot of salmon and mashed squash but I have also found that I am maintaining my weight instead of loosing. Even though you are handleing the solid foods well, I wouldn't push it, I have heard that getting food stuck is a terrible experience. I made the decision to not go to solids until after my first fill and only when I am ready. I don't want to go back to my old eating habits and I most likely would if I ate whatever I wanted. Yes, I am hungry but I am determined also. You can do this..you wouldn't have taken the step to have surgery if you didn't want it.
  4. I was banded on June 30th. When I came out of surgery, my doctor told me that he also repaired my hiatal hernia that I didn't know I had. I have had the obvious aches and pains from the LAP-BAND® surgery, but I am somewhat concerned about some "new" ailments that I have. I seem to be very short of breath and at times light headed. I also have a lot of chest tightness when I am laying on my back and sometimes when I am simply at rest. I never had any problems with breathing before and I am starting to panic. Please let me know if you have had any issues like this. This is a great sight and I have learned so much already from reading all of your posts.
