    Not loosing

I am the plateau queen. Hang in there, it will start up again. I lost 19 pounds in 10 days and then nothing again for about six weeks. It's tough to "wait" but eventually everything kicks in.

    Super Stoked!!!

Congrats, that's awesome. I have an appointment for my third fill. I think I have waited too long between fills because I still haven't hit my sweet spot. Now I'm even more excited about getting the next one!! Thanks!
  3. Would you get a fill if you were consistently losing 0.5 lbs a week? I'm disappointed that I had such a long plateau (2 months). Now after my second fill I have finally started losing again. But I want to be the typical 1 - 2 lbs a week. I track my calories and work out 3 times a week. So why aren't I losing more??!!! Anyway, thanks for your thoughts.

Would you get a fill if...

I checked with my nutritionist about my daily caloric intake. He told me to eat the regular amount of calories, but really be aware of being satisfied and learn to stop eating then. I'm still working on that one; Breakfast and lunch are easier than dinner for me. Good luck to you!

Would you get a fill if...

Thanks for the advice. I think you're right; I'll wait.
  6. Congratulations! That is an awesome milestone.
  7. I was banded Dec 29 but this morning I weighed myself and I'm down 21.5 pounds!!! I have been on a plateau since January, but since my last fill on March 24, the scale is finally moving.
  8. Wow, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with those issues. I don't have any advice, I'm just glad to know I'm not alone :-)
  9. I see that never giving up is the key. Thanks,
  10. OMG, ever since I had the surgery, everyone wants to know how much weight I've lost. Not how I'm doing, not how school is going (I started gradute school a month ago), BUT how much weight have you lost!!! If I had lost a lot of weight I probably wouldn't be so bothered by the question, but really. And I think it's just RUDE to ask someone that every week. Gosh.
  11. Family is usually the worse. I don't know why life has to be a competition. We need to support each other not compete. I have four cousins and three friends who have all had gastric bypass. This group doesn't mean any harm, but they don't understand why I'm losing so slowly. They understand that banders loose slowly, but...
  12. I knew before you said it, that she was overweight, too. Forget her, she's just jealous. And rude!
  13. Ok, I'm talking to one of my friends on the telephone and I told her about my post. I love her dearly and talk to her everyday...she doesn't understand either. She said it's natural for people to ask. I agree, but I just don't want people to lead with that question at the beginning of the conversation. Literally five minutes after my initial post, one of my friends called. I haven't talked to her in about a month. So just guess what her first question was? Ok, I give up. LOL
  14. Thanks, Rainydayz. I was confused by the post, also. Bren, yes, I am referring to other people in my life.

    wk 5-2 1/2 PLATEAU!

You really want to hear a sad story? I had surgery Dec 29 and lost 19 pounds in 10 days. I have NOT lost any pounds since. No, I'm not kidding. I had a fill Feb 11 and still haven't lost any pounds. I've lost inches and have some clothes that I cannot wear anymore. You can look at me and tell that I'm losing, but it doesn't show on the scale. I have another fill next week. I'm praying to God that I can start losing some pounds. It is frustrating, but what else can you do? (other than cry, kick and scream) LOL. Hang in there. For your sake and mine, I have to believe it will get better....eventually.

    Flying in a week

I didn't have any problems either. I also ate on the plane with no problems.

    Can you feel your port?

Is yours under your muscle or under your stomach? My doc said he sewed mine under the muscle. I can feel it but by no means does it stick out (I carry my weight in my midsection). The only thing I've ever done with a bikini is move it out of the way for the one piece :-) Congrats on your sucess.
  18. Congratulations. You've had great success!! Thanks for sharing.
  19. If it was an exact science, we would all be thin.
  20. I started using a straw a couple of weeks ago. It does put more air in your stomach. But I've been able to burp the air back up. I drink more Water with my straw than without. After I get my second fill, I won't drink out of straws again for a couple of months. I was told not to drink anything with carbonation...ever. But I do have a friend who had gastric 6 years ago and she doesn't seem to have any problems. But who knows if her stomach is being stretched out.
  21. When you're still hungry and don't feel full...you eat more. Having the surgery doesn't automatically break all bad habits.
  22. Wow, we're all in the same boat. I wish I had gone to get my second fill sooner. I'm scheduled for March 24. I'm struggling to not gain any of my loss back.
