    Hair

I haven't had my surgery yet, but I really hope that this doesn't happen. I take vitamins right now religiously and plan to continue obviously after the surgery. I had a good friend that's had the lap band for 2 years now and has not lost any hair but has also not told me if she's been growing extra body hair! haha.

  12. I'm so glad I found this post. I actually haven't been banded yet but i'm due to be on the 25th and i've been wondering about subway. I get the salads sometimes anyways so I would be so fine with eating a salad with the subway fixings. =) woot.

    Pack my bag for me!

I'm outpatient but my dr.'s office gave me a list of things to bring. On my list is chapstick, a robe, slippers, facial wipes, and a pillow from home. =)

    Frozen dinners?

Well, my surgeon and weight loss center told me no frozen dinners. So I wouldn't really know. I think that if I was in your position I would talk to my dr/dr's office first before doing it. That's my advice. =)

    not sure!!!

My dr didn't try to convince me of getting anything else. I'm happy for that. I wouldn't want to do any other surgery. Lap band is what I'm stuck on.
  17. Yeah, I agree with you that a low carb/high protein diet would definitely be easier. My liquid diet is clear liquids only. and sugar free. So I can only have my 3 protein shakes a day, water, crystal light, broth, sugar free jello....and, well that's it. I WISH I could have cream soups.

    Nurses

I have always been in the medical field up until lately. I personally don't feel that it affected my ability to care for myself I think that I just made bad choices when it came to food and I was lazy exercise wise. lol. I guess that all depends though. I did have to stand on my feet 12 hours a day and tend to others...You'd think I'd have lost weight by running around all day, but I guess I outweighed the exercise with bad food choices.
  19. Sick as a dog! I hate not being able to breathe through my nose. =(

  20. Have a new surgery date of January 25. It was supposed to be done on the 11th, but I lost my job and had to pay the outrageous fee for the COBRA so for quite a while I was waiting for paper work etc. I'm happy that I have a date again and that it's not TOO far away considering all of the time that I've been waiting.
  21. surgery date pushed back because i lost my job. scheduled for the 25th now.

    Psych Eval...

Wow, mine was sitting down and talking for quite a while, then it was two multiple choice tests....all of this took hours to complete. It was horrible. I passed but there were a couple sceptical areas. I wasn't 100% honest in answering my questions but I did alright.
  23. I was let go today, and that means that the end of this month I no longer have my employers insurance. I already have a surgery date of jan 11th and I have been on a liquid protein diet already. So now I am unemployed with no income and wont have insurance to have my surgery. What do I do? I tried to apply for something called Care Credit that you can get for medical expenses, but I am 20 and you have to be 21 to apply for that. I get one last paycheck and I have a one year old son and bills that I will have to pay as well. I don't know what to do. I have come SO far and I've worked SO hard to get this surgery, and I'm soo close. I feel like a failure, I cant give up though. I don't know how this is going to work. somebody....please. help me.

    somebody please...help

I don't live with my parents. I live on my own with my fiance and son. Although that would have worked out well =(. I am figuring out what can be done. I found out that the hospitals insurance that I have, I will only have untill the end of THIS MONTH so the 1st of january I have no more coverage. I am going to attempt today to call my surgeons office and see whether by the grace of God they have an open spot TOMORROW, which is the last day of this month, to do my surgery so that my insurance will still cover it. If not I WILL find a way to have my surgery my scheduled day. My brother in law *soon to be anyways* has offered to help us with a little cash if we need it, and my mother is a nurse so she MAY help as well. I'm down because of everything that has happened but I still have hope. I'm doing everything I can to figure this out. Thanks again for all of the advice. PS. I get my last paycheck today. Since I was fired yesterday they have till the end of today to get it to me...or so I was told.
