  3. hello, I was banded jan 25th and although after my surgery i didn't have any restriction i still only ate 1 cup of food, healthily and have not strayed. I haven't let myself eat whatever I want just because my band may allow me to. I have since lost 43 lbs! I had my first fill last week on march 22nd and I couldn't be happier. My port is located around 3 inches above my belly button or more and to the left. I can feel my port. =)

    Too Young??

I'm 21 and i was banded at 20. i started off at 240 like you i'm happy with my decision to get the band young. i'm embracing the life-style change although it's a challenge every day. YOU'LL DO FABULOUS. congratulations on being banded. =)
  5. HEY YOU! everything's good with me how are you doing? I had my first fill the 22nd and the 23rd was my 21st birthday. =) i'm in onederland now too! ;)

  6. nothin like ONEDERLAND!

  7. i started out at 42 DD and 240 lbs. i'm at 199 lbs and around 40 D-DD now. it varies depending on the bra. =) even when i before weighed 137 i had C's...so hopefully I wont lose all my boobies. =)
  8. i'm so glad this was posted. i wondered what sliming was, too. i'm still trying to fully understand what a PB is....I heard it was called productive burping? I don't know.
  9. breakfast = one egg, two slices of avacado and 1.5 morning star sausage substitue. 1 cup snack = 2 fish sticks =( (shouldn't have had the breaded crap.) lunch = some homemade chicken panfried and cooked with some cream of mushroom with mushrooms and onions. 1 cup dinner = 4 oz salmon and steamed vegetables. 1 cup My nutritionist doesn't allow sugar or artificial sweetener. I cant have fruit and I choose not to eat bread or pasta because of the carbs. I have lost 18 lbs since surgery on jan 25th and I get my first fill on tuesday the 22nd of this month.

I'm worried I'm eating too much!!

I have to agree and say that eating that much of anything right now especially mashed potatoes is NOT good idea! haha. I was told by my lap band nutritionist to only consume freely with my fluids...when I was on an all liquid diet for 3 weeks after surgery. When I got to my mushy phase I was told to measure my portions and have only had 1 cup of food since then. I'm not a pro, but MY pro told me these things ha! Food for thought! I hope this helps! I would consider measuring and eating only the 1 cup of food...Good luck!
  11. I'm so sorry to hear that you've had such a rough experience. I would not have tolerated that either. I wish you the best in your future fills and with your future fill Doctor. =/
  12. Hello =) I just scheduled my first band fill. I'm really nervous but I'm sure everything will go fine, I just don't do so well with needles. I was told that in my surgeons office they numb you with a needle first. I found that kind of ironic considering they're numbing you with a needle....to put a needle in you haha. Anyhow, The woman I spoke with on the phone made me feel a little under educated! She asked me if I was feeling hungry between meals and I told her yes but my main problem was that I wasn't full after my 1/2 cup and that I felt like I could eat too much. She told me I was over eating. I guess I hadn't realized before-hand that although I still feel hungry after my 1/2 cup, I need to still measure and keep from eating more. I thought I just needed a fill and that there was nothing I could do about the hunger I was feeling until I got one. I'm having a hard time not eating more since because I haven't had a fill and I have no restriction my food is falling straight through my band and into my bigger stomach. I eat healthy meals and exercise 4-5 times a week for 30 min or more but the scale is not moving. At all. Sorry for my rambling there for a moment. =) I'm curious as to whether anyone has opted to have the fill done without numbing before hand? I almost feel I would do better knowing there would only be one needle in my stomach for any given time. Another question....this doesn't fully pertain to band fills, but has anyone gotten food poisoning or a tummy bug with the band? My son has been throwing up today and although I'm washing our hands and cleaning well, I know these things are easy to pass along. I'm nervous about vomitting with the band. Thanks for taking the time to read all of this nonsense and Thank you for any helpful responses. =)

    Sex after lap band???

ALRIGHT!!! I'm back and I had my surgery the 25th. I have had sex recently and I must tell you that after losing 33 lbs in all so far I actually feel more attractive and am more interested/excited now when it comes to sex. I feel sexier to myself and to him. =)

    Numbing medication with fills

I go for my first fill on tuesday but I was told they will be numbing the area with a needle around the port site. I may opt for no numbing considering either way I'll feel one needle stick....

How much do your fills cost?

My first 2 fills are included in my surgery cost, but I will be self pay after my first two fills, and that will cost 150$

  20. day two of cosmetology school tomorrow. =)

  21. I have had swelling in my port area since the day after my surgery. It doesn't ever seem to go down unless I put some ice on it for a period of time. I'm still tender in that spot as well. Has anybody else experienced this? I've talked to a few people now that have told me that either their port was never swollen, or that their swelling was gone after a week. I'm 11 days out. I have an appointment with my surgeon on the 18th. Untill then I'm not sure what to do. Is the swelling normal that you know of? Thank you in advance for giving me some advice. Much appreciated!
