Hi everyone back from Belgium. It wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. Hotel was really nice for a budget one and the staff were very nice. The hospital was great all the staff speak very good English. I went on my own I wouldn't recommend it, it was alright till the day after the op and i had to go to the hotel i felt really vulnerable when my son phoned i started crying like a baby, i think its alot to do on your own but i didn't have a choose. Anyway back at home a bit sore where the portal is and i still have the stitches in, but i can't get over the fact that I'm not hungry its GREAT.I have a bit of trapped wind but that's about it. I'd say the worst thing about it all is the barium meal you have when you have the x ray it doesn't taste very nice and the side affect is terrible diarrhoea which lasts at least 3 days. I will keep you posted over the next few days. Oh i would take some dressing with you as they don't supply any when you leave the hospital, oh and the injections aren't too bad they don't hurt but its just a bit hard to stick a needle in yourself so if you can get someone else to do it might be better.
