  1. Gar, sounds like you are on the right track. Getting my Lapband is the best thing I have EVER done for myself. You got it for a reason and it sounds like to me, you should let yourself rely on it a little more. Keep your positive attitude and keep up the good work. GO RAIDERS!!!!

To Stay Or Not To Stay.....

I stayed 1 night in the hospital and I think it is a good idea for everyone. I mean you ARE having surgery and it doesn't hurt to be monitored over night. This will allow you to rest without worrying about the family bothering you. Good luck and best wishes!
  3. WOW!!!! Almost there.....27 days away from 2 year anniversary and 9.5 lbs. away from goal. I am so happy!

  4. Every morning for me, but I have weighed myself every morning for as long as I can remember (even before Lap Band). Works for me.....keeps me in check!

    Vacation Advice

IMO you should dine with your family. I would prepare my meals with them, sit down enjoy your mushies while they eat their meal. The lapband is your new way of life and you will always be eating differently from others, especially those who are not banded. I had surgery last year, about 1 week before 4th of July. My brother and sister in law had a spectacular 4th of July Bash with all kinds of wonderful food, but of course I was on FULL liquid diet, being only 5 days post op. My family was and has been VERY supportive throughout my journey and on that day in particular they insisted I sit with them as a family and enjoy my liquid. I did and we celebrated our freedom as a family. This year on the 4th and since my surgery, we eat all meals as a family when we are together, but I just eas ALOT less than everybody else. Good luck on your journey and have a WONDERFUL vacation!

    Alcohol

I am enjoying an Adult beverage daily, but I make sure I have it 1/2 hour before I eat or at least 1 hour after I eat. Usually a glass of wine or Bloody Mary and sometimes a Margarita. I have a beer once in a while, but not too often as it is too bubbley.
  11. 6 lbs away from my 1st major goal.......1/2 way there!!!

  12. 9 months out as of last week 6.5 cc in my 10 cc band. Feeling pretty close to "sweet spot". Maybe another .24 or .5 cc will do it I thnk!

  21. Hey Bandsters, I am almost 4 weeks out and Iam doing pretty good. However, the last couple days I have been dying for a Diet Coke. Whats the deal with no soda? I don't see my surgeon for another week and would like some details and stories about anybody drinking or not drinking diet soda. Thank you:sleep:
  22. I just moved out of part 2 diet. I ate refired beans (fat free) with a little shredded low fat cheese......heavenly. Also, puree some chile from Wendys (small cup) awesome! best of luck to you!

    Hello from SoCal...

Hello from Moreno Valley (Riverside Area). Been banded for almost 4 weeks. Love this site. Good luck to you!
  24. I would have to rate my pain as a 4-5. The most discomfort I had was at the port site. I am 3 weeks out and still from time to time have discomfort there, usually if the waistband of my shorts or pants is resting on the port site. All in all, I would have to say this was a VERY easy surgery and recovery and been pretty easy as well. Congratulations and good luck!
  25. Hey there, I am 18 days out and have moved from full liquids to purees or mushies. I CAN'T stand pureeing my food, texture is just gross. As a reults I am eating alot of soup, yogurt, jello and applesauce. Can anyone give me some ideas to change up what I am eating? Don't like cootage cheese (its a texture thing). Thanks for any advice you can give me.
