I don't mean to jump in here but, I am wondering if this is the case, why do some Dr's require it and some don't? Does it have to do with expierence of the Dr doing the surgery? or how high your BMI is? I to am planning on having the band done in early Jan but was told that no pre op diet is required. But planing on going on slim fast Jan 2nd anyway. Thanks for the good post. Sara

Thanks Janet, I have been getting stuck with the same thing in trying to find a surgeon that will even consider fills on anything but the Inamed. I also have not had any response from any of the surgeons in Belgium, so I will probably have to stick with the Mexico route. Did you have any problems traveling that distance after surgery? Any advice you have would be great. How did you like the Dr you used and the Hospital, any problems with language barrior? Thanks again, Sara

Hello again, I was wondering if you ladies can answer a question for me since I have inquired directly with the elyzea clinic but have had no response yet. Do any Dr's in Belgium or Frankfurt or for that matter Europe use the Inamed band? I am just worried if I did go with going to Chemey that I would have problem getting fills with the band they use. My OH is a lot more into it now that I threw in that Beer was involved Thanks again. Sara

Hi Bullwinkle, I found you over under the Cincy link, but followed you over. I too am in the process of trying to get the lap band approved but don't see it happening with insurance, so Dr Curry may be out but I'm still going for it one way or another. Good luck with the no smoking thing I know that can be hard but so worth it in the end. Just think of all the extra $$ you will have in hand this time next year with cutting back on food and cigs I'll follow along on your journey and may be sitting next to you some day in Dr C's office for a fill.

Thank you so much Suzanne, I am off to try and find a conversion chart for the $ I'm sure my OH would love to do that over Mexico. and Chimay is one of his absolute favorites. Since I am taking his vacation time from him (and his Birthday :0 to have this done maybe that would help make up for it. How many days do you have to stay in the hospital (or hotel). I'm not sure how I would get the consultation in before hand although we do fly directly from here to London, it would be quite the comute just for a consultation! Hi Ladies, I have been trying to search on getting info on the lap band in Belgium on who is the best Dr's with the best prices and also if they use the Inamed band any where? . I am actually in the U.S. but have the luxury of working for the airlines so really I can go where ever I need to for the best Dr for the money? I know that sounds horrible but unfourtanatly with having to pay out of pocket, my Hubby is not to crazy about the whole thing. Thanks in advance. Saraincincy

Hi Shay, I am also in Cincinnati I am in a similiar boat with you and have just now decided that instead of letting life pass me by I am jumping on it. Opening up a Credit Card (0% for a year atleast :grouphug: and going to Mexico. I'm still debating on the surgeon but probably Kuri in TJ. I'm figuring that with all the money I spend on Wieght Watchers/ and over the years diet Meds of all sorts. and other medication (that hopefully someday it will even out if I get off of them). I have been on here and many other boards (Yahoo groups Bandsters and Mexican Bandsters) researching and I fill confident in my decision.
