I went in today for my 2nd fill and couldn't get it:angry My port has flipped. I had my first fill 2 weeks ago. I can't imagine what I did to cause it to flip. Has anyone experienced a flipped port? How was it corrected? Were you put to sleep or was it done with local anestesia? (sp?) Is it alright to continue to exercise with a flipped port?

PIPPZ---YOU KNOW YOU LOOK GOOD!!!!! WHEN DID YOU START THE LB JOURNEY? have you averaged 10lbs a month or more?

To those of you in the medical field--or can help me....What's going on? yesterday I ate a jello-pudding cup SF/FF and it was as it I took coma medicine--I immediately went to sleep....someone give me info on bloodsugar and how food affects it. Danbo--the crawfish shouldn't have been too bad....there's so little meat in them, so you'd probably have to eat an awful lot to get in 3-4oz. HOLLI---YOU'RE DOING GREAT!!!!! KEEP UP THE WEIGHT LOSS:scared: (I couldn't find a #1 trophy)--but you're #1

Hey Junebugs!!! I've been reading everyday, but haven't posted....I went to a support group last night and it was quite interesting. The topic was getting and staying on track (measuring success other than with the scale)...after her talk--the floor was opened to questions and answers. It was good to meet others who are on this same journey and hear their experiences. I went for a second fill (so I thought). because I wasn't feeling restricted and was able to eat anything....as it turns out I already had 5cc in my 10cc AP band. (Dr. B. gave me some extra juice during the mediport revision)...so this actually turned out to be my 3rd fill---I received 1cc----- Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Danbo--I wanted to see the before picture and YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

I've been doing find from my port revision, (no bruising)--UNTIL TODAY!!! I called the doctor, but he said it's nothing to worry about. lo2us--I have wanted to join a support group since I got banded. I forget why I missed the June date and I had my port flipped back in July, so I will attend the August meeting next week (Lord, willing...and the creek don't rise)...I'm not sure who leads it or what the topic will be, but I'll let you know.

Looking for Doctor around Dallas, Texas
bigbaby replied to TCW's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I went through AIGB--American Institute of Gastric Banding. They are in Richardson, which is a suburb of Dallas. 214-389-7430. They DID ALL OF THE INSURANCE WORK FOR ME!!!! All that I did was show up for the appointment. My insurance required 5 yrs of medical history. It can be from any doctor. As a matter of fact, I only had 4 consecutive years from my PCP, so I got the 5th year from my OBGYN and it was accepted. My doctor is Dr. Richard Benevides. 972-331-8100. He's GREAT!!! -
Try Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate or FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal I prefer the dailyplate because it has a variety of foods and brands

Dan---I'm not in pain...I can't believe it!!! Every now and then I feel a twinge of pain (more soreness than pain) where the doctor went back in through the incision. As far as I know, the insurance is paying for it. No one has mentioned money to me, SO I'M NOT MENTIONING IT TO THEM!!!!
-
nvalicia--Have you received a date to have the port repositioned? It's quick---extremely quick---It took the doc 15-20 min. I didn't experience the vomiting (thank God). Are you still experiencing this? I pray all goes well for you!!
-
I had my port repositioning procedure today and it went well. I thought it would be done locally, but I was under.:notagree It took approximately 20 minutes. I only have pain in the incision. The doctor went back through the same scar. I am on clear liquids for 3 days and back to solid foods. Got a small fill also!! Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers!!!

Speina-----Were you awake--or did they put you totally under??? I hope the pain will leave soon. I think that mine is flipped totally around also. Did your doctor say what might have caused it?

Thanks for your prayers and thoughts. I have an appointment this Thursday at 7:00 a.m to have my port put back in position. The nurse said that it would be performed with an IV. I won't be knocked out unless it's necessary. Keep praying...I'll post again on Thursday afternoon and let you know all of the details.

Getting Enough Water
bigbaby replied to chimboree26's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on June 18th and can now drink (not sip) Water. I don't like water, so I drink Crystal Light. My schedule is Breakfast, 2 16oz bottles of water, lunch, 1 16 oz bottle of water, dinner/exercise 1 16 oz bottles of water. this allows me to get 64 oz and keeps me full between meals. -
Any Junk Food Junkies care go join me?
bigbaby replied to musicalmomma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

Hey all, I found this fabulous website yesterday - Recipezaar: Where the World's Recipes Are - It is too cool. You can search for anything. I put in 'low fat, high protein' in the search bar and got thousands of good, easy recipes. I'm not big on cooking, so I made my search even more focused by saying that I wanted low fat, high protein, crock pot recipes, still got over 3,000! It give the nutritional info for each recipe too. Suzzie--thanks for the recipe site---I'm not much of a cook either, but maybe I'll try. I CAN cook, but don't particularly enjoy it. I can eat leftovers forever...so I figure if I make a recipe from this site, and my band is really working--I can cut the grocery bill by eating the same thing for a couple of days:):cry:hungry:...Let me know what you have tried and how it turns out.
