  1. Hi, Glad to find the September Bandsters again! It has been a while since I've posted. So glad to hear things are going well for you! As far as I'm concerned being banded was the best thing I ever did! I was banded on September 29th and I have lost 77 pounds so far. I still have about 55 pounds to lose but I already feel like a different person. Hope to hear from other September Bandsters as well!
  2. Haddock with a citrus basil rub, roasted potatoes, turnip and sweet potatoes and a garden salad.
  3. Hi, I am from the Boston area too and was banded the week before you (9/29). It won't be long before mashed potatoes go down smoothly.... just tiny bites slowly. It's a hard lesson to learn but pain is a good reminder :puke:
  4. I took my pain meds the day after surgery- once during the day and then at night before bed. The next day I didn't need it during the day but took it again before bed and that was about it. My surgery was on a Wed. afternoon and I was driving by Friday afternoon. I went back to work on Monday.
  5. Thanks for asking this question! I too was operated on on 9/29 and I'm in the same boat. Glad to hear it is typical:) Christine

    sleep study

Hi, I also had to have the sleep study because of my BMI and neck size. I do snore but don't have other symptoms of sleep apnea. The sleep study was annoying, but ok. They found 1 minor blip in my sleep pattern and the Dr. told me that if I wasn't scheduled for surgery, he would not have prescribed the CPAP mask because it was so minor, but since I was having surgery he set me up with the mask and made me go back in for a second sleep study while wearing the mask. That was annoying because I had a really hard time falling asleep wearing the mask. I had to bring the mask with me on my surgery day so they could put it on me while in recovery. I woke up from surgery and was pleased to see they never put the mask on me. The anesthesiologist said I was fine and didn't need it. My mask is in my closet now and will be going back to the company that it is rented from very soon! Best of luck to you. Hopefully you will be able to tolerate it better than me. Christine
  7. Tomorrow is the big day! I can't believe I am actually doing this! I am so excited but nervous about the procedure tomorrow. My surgery is at 10:30. I am hoping to be discharged tomorrow late afternoon so I don't have to stay over night. We'll see. I can't wait to move on to the next stage. This liquid diet is getting really DULL! I am happy to be down about 20 lbs. from my starting weight going into surgery. Only 125 to go! Christine
  8. That's great! keep up the good work and keep me posted as well.
  9. Hi Ladybug, My advice to you would be to try to get up and walk around as soon as you can after surgery. It really seemed to help me. Best wishes to you on your surgery. I will be thinking of you on 10/8. I am excited to find others who will be banded around the same time as me so we can track our progress together. How is your pre-op diet going? Christine
  10. Thanks Catherine! That's great advice. I will definitely take my measurements

    Here we go!!!!

Well I am home resting happy to report that my surgery yesterday went far better than expected! The hardest part was waiting since I was scheduled for 10:30 but didn't go in until 1:15! I was discharged at 5:30 and felt pretty good. I am home today resting and pretty comfortable even without my pain meds. I am 20 lbs. down from the start of this process... only another 125 to go
  12. Well... I am happy to report that things went great yesterday and I am home resting comfortably. I am pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was up and moving after surgery. My procedure started at 1:15 and I was discharged at 5:30.The hardest part was waiting since I was supposed to be operated in at 10:30! I feel good but just a little achy today. I hope everyone's banding goes as smoothly as mine  Thanks again for your well wishes. Christine

  14. Hi, I am finally banded! I had my surgery today at 1:00. I was scheduled for 10:30 but got delayed. Waiting was the hardest part! I was in recovery by 2:30 and awake shortly after that. I felt really good and was able to get up and walk around really quickly. I could drink and pee and was dressed and waiting for my ride by 5:30. I am really pretty comfortable, just a little achy in my stomach. I am pleasantly surprised! I am so glad to be on the other side! Thanks for all the well wishes! Christine
  15. Thank you! I'll keep you posted!
