    What Is Your Halloween Strategy?

I'm happy to say that the candy will not be an issue for me this year. I am a little shy of two weeks post op so there will not be any choice about "staying good". I'm thrilled to get to start puréed tomorrow-that's my Halloween treat Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Which surgery?

I had my LapBand removed and revised to VSG on 10/18/16. For me, the band caused much more trouble than I ever expected. I lost about 60 pounds and kept it off for three years. When the LapBand was working and I didn't have to fight with fills and un-fills, life was good. When things went bad, they went really bad. At the time of revision, they found that my band had slipped and I had prolapsed stomach. Nothing I did, just a failure of the device. I did all my research before being banded and I did all the routine care that my program required, but I still had a band that was a failure. My surgeon is doing very few bands today. And...the rate of weight loss is spectacular versus my band. I'm down 17 lbs. since pre op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Round Two - Band to Sleeve

I'm also a LapBand to sleeve revision. My band started to go bad a few years ago and I'm thrilled that the thing is gone. I'm not quite two weeks post op yet, but I will tell you, I'm already so far ahead of where I was with the band. I'm down 17 pounds since pre op started. It took me two months to have that with the band. I wish that the sleeve had been available in 2010. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Hey sleeve buddy. Please don't worry about why the scale isn't moving. You are doing everything they asked of you with protein intake and water. You aren't eating chicken wings or steak. Give your body a minute to adjust to the fact that you are taking in such a low level of calories. Everyone's rate of loss is different at this point-none any better than another. A wise friend of mine reminded me that this isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. Slow and steady beats a jackrabbit start anytime! Keep on doing what's right and it will catch up with you on the scale. Any October 2016 Sleevers?

Sore, like I had done 100 crunches, and thirsty. They did an amazing job of controlling my pain. I slept most of that day. It wasn't terrible. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Lovenox/Heparin Bruises?

Using Lovenox for another week and my belly looks like a colorful quilt. All different shades of green and yellow and black. I'm counting down to be finished with them, but am grateful that they are helping to prevent a clot. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!

I'm good with you asking about weight loss. I'm down 9lbs since surgery and 16 since pre op started. I'm surprised but don't think it can possibly continue at this rate. I figured that I'll enjoy it while it lasts. I'm ready for chewing though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!

For some reason, I can't reply to you on the other post about returning to work. It says my posting has been revoked by the admin. Funny thing is, I'm posting here I'm doing better each day. I don't have to return to work until Thanksgiving week so I'm enjoying the time to learn how this new tiny stomach of mine works. How about you? I saw that you are back to work already-man, I'm impressed. I am very tired every afternoon napping. But, I'm an old 53 year old. I had a lot more done than expected which is really the problem. Monday starts puréed!!! Counting down to chew time!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    total noob

Research, research, research. This is one the biggest decisions you will make in your lifetime so make sure you spend a lot of time learning about the different types of surgeries, pros/cons of each, possible risks/complications.

    Time off

I work in outside sales. I drive a lot and do a lot of lifting. My surgeon has put in paperwork for me to be off six weeks but I'm hoping to return around four weeks. Who knows since I'm only one week out now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Whats the weirdest food related dream?

I woke up this morning convinced that I had raided the snack cupboard in my house and eaten a cookie. I'm five days post op-funny thing is that the first thing I felt was guilt! For something I hadn't even done!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Getting more nervous everyday

Good luck and best wishes to you this week! I was revised from LapBand on the 18th. It hasn't been all smooth sailing because of the hernia, removal and other repair work done but it's getting better each day. Glad the band is gone forever Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Count down begins... surgery tomorrow!

Chapstick...you will be very parched after surgery but can't drink until after the leak test(at least with mine). It helped a lot. And start looking for pants to wear post op. I'm 5 days out and can only wear loose waisted pants since three of my incisions are right at my waistline. Drawstring is my suggestion. I tried yoga pants this morning and they aren't going to work. Too much pressure on the incision. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Vsg Surgery in a couple of Hrs.

Thanks, actually I ended up not having the VSG done. My doctor Dr. Clayton Frenzel decided to stop the process because my liver still needs to shrink a little bit more. I started at 394 and yesterday I was 172 so, Ive lost 21 pounds but it seems isn't enough. So, I got the cuts on my stomach but no VSG Ive to continue with my two weeks liquids diet ... loose more weight Dr said At least 20 more pounds,... To be continue,.. Sent from my iPhone You want to start your new sleeved life with the highest chance of success right? I'm sure that you are disappointed but surgery is still going to happen, just delayed a little. Better to have the delay and a healthy outcome! Thinking of you!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
