THE THIRD TIME IS NO CHARM!!

I guess I'm confused...exactly what is the point of your post?

    Sadness

So sorry to hear about your loss. Don't stress about the food choices... Just do what you can.

    Purée. Stupid auto correct.

My wife just laughed at me...

Sounds like a great dinner! When I was on puréed foods, I made all sorts of concoctions. They didn't look pretty, but after two weeks of sweet protein shakes, I was craving more savory foods. My favorite was sweet corn cake, turkey breast, refried beans and taco seasoning topped with salsa...yummy!!! Can't wait to hear what you cook once you start on solids! Keep us posted.

    calories in homemade foods

If you use an app like MyFitnessPal, you can create recipes by scanning the labels on each of the ingredients and entering in the number of servings. Or, you can just search the ingredients and add them that way if you don't use a smartphone. That way you have accurate nutritional information. It gives you calories, carbs, sodium, fat, etc. per serving. I have saved a lot of my favorites and use the info all the time.

    Favorite cheese?

I really like the Sargento Brand of lower fat string cheese, marble and sharp cheddar sticks. I also love their new thin sliced products. They only have 40 calories per slice because they are sliced thinner but they have all the flavor of a slice of "real"cheese. I also buy the Kraft reduced fat shreds. I haven't had any luck with any of the fat free cheeses. I prefer to have strong flavors and use less cheese rather than settle for lots of cheese with no flavor or a funky texture.

    2x the protein & only 80 calories

1/4 c. Real maple syrup 3 tbs. canola oil 1 tbs. Water Almond extract - I don't measure it, I just pour Heat to a simmer. 2 cups old fashioned oats 1/2 c. Wheat germ OR ground flax seed 2 tbs. dark brown sugar - i use the Splenda version 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. Sliced almonds Pour the syrup mixture over the dry, mix well. Spread over a 9 x 13 pan or cookie sheet and press down. Bake at 275' for 25 minutes Stir, then put back in oven for an additional 10 minutes. Cool well, than put in an airtight container and it will keep for about a month. A little bit goes a long way on yogurt or cooked oatmeal. With the almonds, 1/4 c. has about 80 calories. Much tastier and MUCH healthier than the store versions. You can also add in lots of other things-different nuts, coconut, dried fruit-but most of the fruits don't work we'll with the band. Good luck! It's one of the staples in my household...

Weather changes - Tight this Morning

I have the same barometric pressure sensitive band as you I guess! Hope the snow and sleet don't keep you from having a great day!

    2x the protein & only 80 calories

I agree! I was using the regular Dannon Greek because I loved the texture vs Chobani, but have switched to the 80 calorie version of the Dannon because it saves me 40 calories per serving. Now I can add my homemade granola and not overload on calories.

    January Surgery Bandsters Group

Hey ladies, long time no see. I left LBT in November after a personal attack made by an individual regarding a post I made and have tried to avoid ever since. I miss the support though and have stopped in a few times to check up on all of you January women. I'm not posting for the most part but wanted to say hello and let you know that I haven't dropped off the face of the planet. Nicole-just a comment about your feeling of being in the green zone. If you have a stuck incident, you should go back to liquids for at least the day of the event. You get swelling when you get stuck and need to give it time to come back down. That's probably why you got stuck again the same day. Looks like you are making great progress! Ready for my journey-you are right about never learning. I've been banded more than two years and I still feel the need to test my band occasionally. You would think that we would all have this figured out, but I still need reminders about how the darn thing works! kymie-awesome job! What did you do to lose 9 lbs in one week??? nicki-sorry to hear about your stuck incident while car shopping. Like I told Nicole, if you get stuck, don't try to eat solids again right away. I was yelled at by my dr. when I got stuck from deli ham and then tried to eat later that day. Ended up having to go in and have a slight unfill! nj2-glad you figured out how your band works. It's such a learning curve. I'm still learning, every day, something new to eat or a new trick for better eating. Like I said earlier, I appreciated how you all welcomed me into your Jan. 2012 world and wanted to explain why I disappeared. I still need support but had decided that until I could be on LBT and feel peaceful, I couldn't come back. I have learned the power of blocking posts so I can avoid the drama.

Unfill 1 week later < is that crazy ??

I've had several times where I had to go back for an unfill. Like someone said, don't stress too much about the number of the fill in your band. Too tight is not good for you! Each time I was too tight, I ended up gaining because I ate a lot of slider foods because they were all I could get down. Don't see this as a setback-see it as an opportunity to keep yourself healthy.

yep. 81 mg are the same thing as baby aspirin.

    Baby aspirin

i have been taking a baby aspirin since my surgery two and a half years ago. i just take the coated 81 mg and they haven't caused me any trouble.
  14. You know nothing about me or my supposed sad life...shame on you. Seriously.
  15. Don't rush it! Just remember that you have multiple stitches in multiple locations. You don't want to rush it and then end up hurting yourself. Your body needs the time to heal and then you can return with GUSTO! Listen to your doctor.

How Many Calories Do You Take In A Day

1200 with 60-80 grams of protein. I don't pay a lot of attention to carbs. I use My Fitness Pal to keep track of everything though.

Worried That I Will Never See The Difference

Check out your local Salvation Army. Much less expensive way to get at least a few things that fit. I know it's hard when you don't see the weight loss, but boy, we all sure can!!! Just a note, keep one pair of your pre-surgery pants. I pull mine out when I'm feeling like I need a boost. It may be a better visual for you than the mirror! You should be very proud of yourself! Keep it up!

    Feeling Discouraged!

I wish that people had a "mute"button that I could use when they say stupid things! 35 pounds is great, no matter what your acquaintance says! Be proud of yourself because you know- you can lose weight, but you can't lose stupidity!

    January Surgery Bandsters Group

I know this is going to sound strange, but I am thrilled. I saw my surgeon today and didn't get a fill! He says that my eight pound loss in the six weeks since my last unfill is perfect. Remember, I'm a lot further out from surgery than you guys but I'm still not at my goal weight either... He wanted to know what I was doing differently and I told him that I am journaling RELIGIOUSLY on my fitness pal and that I have found a good, positive support group here on LBT. Can I tell you all how refreshing your thread is? You ladies have such welcoming spirits and have made me feel part of something uplifting instead of bogged down in the pettiness that I was finding elsewhere. I raise up to all of you here a huge "THANK YOU" of gratitude.
