I'm 44 years old married 21 years and a mother of two. My daughter is 20 and my son 14 . My daughter is about to have our first grandbaby. I had a hysterectomy at age 30 years and as a combination of that ,smoking and steroid creams for psoriasis, I now have osteoporosis. I have been overweight my entire life . I could manage my weight to the point I still felt good and looked good . But the past couple of years i've lost control of everything. For some reason without changing eating habits, i've gained about 60lbs and i can feel the huge difference. So many of my friends are having gastric bypasses, but also so many are and have had complications. My husband and I decided after I came home with the information from my first info meeting , that it was best for me to stay with lapband. 1) it's reversable, if need be due to emergencies. 2) substantially less complications and risk. and 3) i will at least get some absorbtion with food unlike the bypass, and with my Osteoporosis that is huge. My doctors would i'm sure rather i have the bypass due to my size, but i'm not in this to get supoer skinner in 6mo. I'm in this to feel better. I don't have to be skinny, i've been heavy my whole life. I just need to find me again.
