Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

I bigger than a turkey how you getting on it must be a year since you had your surgery? I booked with chris over two years ago now I got to say I agree with your the aftercare is really great. There is always someone someone in the europesurgery.co.uk office that can help you when you are stuck with what to eat or just need some advice. I think it takes the fear factor out of booking surgery abroad the fact that they have a uk office to call and uk clinics to see Fred and Chris. How much weight have you lost?

hi yes lets meet up I get incontact with sharon and jane as well and see if they want to come. It be good for all us banders to meet up and talk about how we are getting on even if its not fill time. I agree with you about just calling the london office if your not sure of anything thats what there there for! its a lot quicker than waiting for an email. how about we meet next week thursday and then if anyone wants a fill they can go at the same time?I don't think i need one myself at the moment things are about right for me.

hi big daddy i always call the office in london a lot too, I am surprised there not sick of hearing my voice lol.I do think its great that even through chris is abroad there is a office in the UK you can call for advice. Glad your doing so well is great to have a man on here! it seems more ladies are worried about there weight than men, natalie I keep doing like you ding really well and then I fall back into bad habits, but over time the weight as still slowly come off I don't think I could do this with out the support i get from people on here and my partner. I think its paobably alright to eat things like chocolate every now and again as long as you keep yourself in check like you are doing and stop again.

I agree with you biggerthanaturkey that's the problem at my work too! we all use any excuse for cream cakes and bums, or to go out for a meal at lunch time or after work, up until i had the band fitted it was just a stone for me each year..I just had to stop it or i felt i was going to become a very fat lady indeed with all of the health problems you get from that as well. They all know at work that i done it now i think there is a bit of twittering behind my back about it...not sure why really i think they get a bit jealous because they have not made the move themselves.

hello i looked at the aftercare dates and fredrick is in glasgow quite soon so maybe just go to him. You don't want to go to other nurses chirs likes you to go to his team incase anyone does something wrong. you best just call Julie or europe surgery and get it booked with chris.

You have to be careful where you go for fills Fredrick told me that if you go to someone other than chris or a member of his team then the band is not covered anymore. Some places the nurses are not experienced if someone stuck a needle through the tubing instead of into the band then you band would be prematurely damaged. It best to stick with the aftercare package from chris's own team so they can monitor you. There in the Uk every thursday you just have to call julie tosh or the europe surgery office an they get you booked in. chris his team do fills for other people cos some surgeons even uk surgeons are not good with the aftercare and also rip people off. But if you had surgery with chris you should stay with him cos if anything ever went wrong he would look after you.

by parner has a johnson and johnson band that was fitted a while agao by dr chris but i think he mainly does then on men cos i think they are bigger. anyway thanks to chris and freddie i am losing the weight well now if anyone is worried about going abroad for surgery they should not, it works out cheaper going over to brussels and its just a train ride away but then you also get a really experinecd surgeon and excellent aftercare in the uk with a uk help line to guide you through the whole thing.

I agree they are very helpful in the london office europesurgery@yahoo.co.uk , if you come by ryanair often the cheapest way you just get the ryaniar bus to the midi station and then its 3 stops on the train to viloorde, if you come by eurostar then its just 3 stops on the local train to viloorde as well cos it just drops you off there and its free as part of the eurostar package. my band at 7sh too and thats great just right can eat most of a plate full of food and not feel hungery afterward but the weight is staying off.

hi freckles sorry to hear you been ill must be horrible i don't understand what you mean you under your boobs for the port cos its just your rib cage there so they could not inject in there? its always under your rip case on the left hand side with chris anyway it can't be any higher cos of rib cage.

hi crazy i think we all happy for anyone to join in with the talk here even if people have not gone to dr chris. for me dr chris was my first choice cos of the low complication rate and the uk aftercare, its also good that you can see him in london afterwards so he can follow your journey through. really for me leaving in london it was just as easy to get on the eurostar and go to brussels and do it as go to somewher in the uk. but i did not go to him because it was cheaper..even though it was cheaper really because i had heard how good he was, and the uk helpline europesurgery i heard was good too! but yes if your finding there is not many being who are writing who went where you went them just join in with us guys. chris has done more g band operations then anyone else in europe so there are bound to be more people talking in forums who been to him then uk surgeons.

hey will done i know its a big step ! when i booked i called europesurgery because there in the Uk it think its better than contacting some company abroad and the package is the same. They offer telephone support and there office is even open at weekends so if you need anything or are worried you can just call them.I see you have booked in the uk now for your operation anyway but if you change your mind really its no hassle on the train to brussels only takes 2 hours and then all the aftercare is in the uk anyway.

Hi I had surgery with dr Chris, I think you will find everyone on here recommends him. have a look through old posts its really rare but you will find that no one has a bad word to say about him. He is calm, kind, very intelligent. some people are worried about booking abroad but its not been a problem at all for me, because he comes over to the UK for the aftercare and i booked via the europe surgery office in the UK so I can call them whenever I want to get more information about diet or if I am worried about anything. There are not many surgeons in the UK that have that a 12 hour help line if your worried about anything! As for getting the band its the best decision i have ever made! there is no way I would have lost weight on my own. I did not hear good things about the sleeve and thats why i went for the band. I looked into it a lot before I went, but dr chris has the lowest complication rate and as far as I could see was also one of the cheapest. Once you had the band done I would not risk going to another clinic for the fills, I have heard that if they are not experienced they can gap you with the needle so that it really hurts for one! where it does not hurt when Fredrick or Chris does it. But also when people have gone somewhere else if they don't know what there doing they can inject into the band instead of the port and then you would have a whole in your band forever and it would not work.

I was given strong pain killers too, I really felt ok for the first few days post surgery and was glad because I had read on some forums that some people where in pain. I do think Chris is good for that he gave me the co-codamol too and its worth taking the windeze with you.

I would just stick with what chris recommends the low fat diet, I guess low fat milk would be ok but you are meant to be reducing the price of your liver by going low fat before the operation. do you know why they are drinking the milk??

HI btaturkey can eat a full plate of food but it is a small plate, it is up to you how tight you have the band but Dr Chris does advice you. I could go tighter but I am happy losing the weight slowly, taking it at my own pace.

Hi just googled it and it seems to have a chemical called ranitidine in zantac maybe ask your doctor about it? or even just have a go because you can buy in from a pharmanist without perception. here is a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranitidine

Good luck BTturkey hope the last minute saving goes well! Its well worth it maybe you can persuade someone in your family to borrow the last few euros's. I use something called zantac for acid. i don't know if anyone else has tried it... its really good it shuts off the acid production in your stomach for a short time. I don't know what the active ingredients are maybe they are just Lansoprazole or Omeprazole but you can buy it over the counter in the pharmancy in the UK.I try and look on a packet and report back in the next few days. I think its brillant for acid especailly when i have a little bit of a hang over lol.
