Bluepoint Surgical Group
Meganginna replied to Semper4life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I am a patient of Dr. Halmi's. Dr. M. stopped performing surgery and he is now teaching. Dr. Halmi mentioned that at one of the support groups. I don't know what happened to Dr. Tran, I spoke with him about a month or so ago, when I called the answering service. -
I feel weird writing a blog. I read blogs written by other people who have things to say about profound things. I just feel so weird right now, I have such good days and then turn about and have horrible ones. Yesterday was easy and fine, tried new soft foods and got exercise, no biggie. Today I have been hungry all day and exhausted. I don't think I overdid it yesterday, but maybe I did. The one good thing, now that I am a few weeks out, I no longer am having food dreams. So that is good

Hi - I am almost three weeks post op and I have had some tough moments this last week. Tonight I picked a fight with my wonderful fiancée because I was tired and hungry and ready to feel normal again. People can now tell I've lost weight and I'm getting compliments which is nice, however, it's hard to pretend like everything is fine when I am hungry a lot, still generally tired from recovery, and I am still having some occasional stomach pain. Having this forum helps but it feels so hard some days, because it feels like no one understands what this is like. Can you call your dietician at your doctors office? I have found mine to be much more helpful post op than even my physician.

I chop up the egg/tuna salad very well and I eat it very slowly. I also have drained vegetable soup and just eat the soft veggies.

My dietician recommended not using baby food but instead making regular food mushy. Her issue was the amount of sugar in baby food. I personally recommend mashed potatoes, well cooked green beans, warmed cheese and refried beans, egg salad, tuna salad, and cereal soaked in milk and drained.

Good luck! Don't be afraid to ask questions at the hospital and take it easy when you get home. I am 8 days out and I still have some pain....but I have already lost weight and generally feel good. -
I was banded on July 28, 2010. I felt great the first 24 hours, when I was on the hospital pain meds. Once I have been home, I am still struggling with pain and I have difficulty standing up and sitting down. My scars look pretty good, but are tender. I am also hoooooongry. I can't wait to get on mushy foods next week. My family has been very supportive, however, I just feel generally cranky right now. I am hoping this will pass.....

I was banded on 7.28.10 and I haven't had any complications either. I have a lot of pain still just a few days out, but I haven't had any vomiting or other issues myself. I too have been surprised, but thankful for no complications :rolleyes2:

Good luck -- my surgery is in 29 days. I look forward to future posts about how you're doing.
