It is wonderful that you have made the decision to have the lapband. You will find lots of support on this site. It is great to have a place to discuss your thoughts and feelings with others who have through this themselves. I know it give me a place to share without it being too much. Good luck with everything!

My nephew ordered the workout and went from 221 to 181. It does look intense. I don't think I am quite there yet. I am still walking with occasional splurts of jogging in between. LOL I hope you enjoy it!

I agree with you. I think that sometimes as women we play so many roles in our lives. We are wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, friend, and coworkers. We get pulled in so many different directions and put everyone elses needs first. As we begin this journey, we need to learn how to put ourselves first and make "ourselves" a priority to experience success. This is something that is so new to many of us. I wish you much success as you begin this journey. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

That is wonderful new! I am glad that everything turned out for the best. Keep up the great work on your weight loss.

I hate it when the scale appears to be broken and will not move. :eek:You know that you are working so hard yet it refuses to budge one ounce. I went almost an entire week. Ahhhh Finally, I decided to look at everything I was eating. There really was no problem there. So, I decided to switch up my walking. First, I measured it in my van so that I would know how far I was walking. It measured 3.8 mile (or so I thought). Only to find out that I measured in Kilometer. :rolleyes:I couldn't believe that. It sure felt close to 4 miles when I walked it. However, I found that taking the new walking route with "lots" of hills really made a difference and jump started my weigh loss again. Yesterday, I was down 1.4 pound and another pound today. Wow! I will take that! I think for some reason my body was just holding on to it and suddenly.....I was able to get it off. It just goes to show that we just have to perservere and not give up!

Wow! You are doing great! It is wonderful that you could go on vacation and still lose a pound. Stay focused and keep going!

Oh, I feel for you! I am glad that you finally know why you are feeling so bad. I do get a littel upset sometimes when doctors don't listen. We do know our body best. I think of how long you have been miserable. I am hopeful that you can now get it treated so that you can feel good again. Here's to wishing you a happy and speedy recovery!

I am glad that you are feeling better. It is awful to get panic attacks. However, when you go through stressful times, they can come on quickly. I think for anyone who is prone to panic attacks, they just need to remember to take time for themselves each day to destress (alot easier said than done). Onward and upward to better health!

Way to go! It is nice to look back at some of our pictures and see how far we have come. Maybe I will get my pictures and put together a collage. Great idea!

Keep coming back to this site to get the support that you need. It will keep you motivated and help you to remember your goal!

I am so thankful for this site. I have found it to be more supportive than my support group meetings. Don't get me wrong the people at the meetings are wonderful. However, I feel it is more geared toward the people who have had gastic bypass. Also, it is only once a month. This site really helps me stay focused. If I do have a day that is off....I just click on this site and read other posts. It keep me encourage to not get discouraged if the scale appears stuck.....as it has been for the past 5 days. I stay focused and keep working with the band. I highly recommend it! :frown:

I have lost a total of 34 pounds. Yet my pant's size has not gone down but 1 size. Part of that is due to all of my cloths being way too tight before surgery. However, I had refused to buy anymore knowing that I was having the surgery. Also, I lose weight on top first. The bottom is the last to go. I just take it one day at a time. Do not get discouraged. Each small ounce loss is a victory! I know from reading on this site that many who have now loss 100 or more pounds have all had that frustration at some point or another. It is how you work through that frustration and keep going on that will help you to perservere!

Oh, how funny. I had a dream about pickles. I was struggling to get them out of a jar with a spoon. I don't know WHAT made me dream about that! LOL I am glad that you are slowing getting better and not vomiting. I hope your recovery continues to go well for you! Soon you will be on to the soft stage!

Dadkins8 commented on nancy_marie_00's blog entry in Blog 100512
Oh, how funny! I found myself glued to the Food Network the entire liquid phase of my diet as I was recovering. My family found it a little odd at first. However, I have found that is a way to get some great recipes and modify to meet my needs and the needs of my family. You are not alone! -

The Major Reasons for Weight Lost. What is yours?
Dadkins8 commented on NeverGivinUpTeya's blog entry in Blog 99716
Oh, my can I relate! Right before my surgery I had to fly home on a Southwest Flight. My board pass was one of the last one. Needless to say there were no isle or window seat, full flight and I had to find 2 people to sit between! Uggghhhhh....you know that everyone was probably hoping that I didn't sit with them. I picked 2 super thin peoples to sit between. Good news...they were very nice people who didn't make me feel bad. I already took care of that myself. I also want to ride a roller coaster with my kids, and sit in a stadium without the seat squeezing the ----out of me. -
I am right there with you at 2 months today. My weight loss is very close to your loss at 32 lbs. Keep on working hard! It will come off.

My family already knows how much work it is....and I told my husband...don't let anyone tell me how easy this is.. Like you, I must exercise everyday and watch what I eat. It is a tool but not the end all. We do put in a lot of effort. But it sure is worth it!
