This has been a long process for me. I first inquired about having weight loss surgery back in 2005 but soon realized that gastric bypass was not for me. At the time my insurance did not cover lap band (tricare). After that I got pregnant with my first and then had to start my wait again. In January 2008 I found out that tricare would do the lapband so i started seeing the docs again to prepare for surgery and then in July got pregnant with my second! After I had my 2nd baby our insurance changed to BCBS and so my journey had to start all over again, so I went to my new PCM, got a referral to a surgeon whom I will never refer or see again because they were very inconsiderant, would not return phone calls or set up additional appointments! So then I chose to go to True Results after finding out that Dr Carcamo was on my insurance. From the very start, the office staff, nurses, and surgeon have been excellent! I started seeing them on May 17th 2010 and now am scheduled for surgery on June 29th. The only problem I have had with them was getting my psych consult back which took 2 1/2 weeks versus the 3-4 days like I was told. I started my pre-op diet of liquid protein on June 8th thinking my surgery was going to be approved on time for June 22,  but it wasn't so I will have been on the "2 week pre-op diet" for 3 weeks by time I have the surgery. I am still a little skeptical since I have not been scheduled a time to come in yet but I am supposed to be getting a call tomorrow from the surgery scheduler. I am starting to get a little nervous and am very excited that I am finally going to be healthy! I am doing this for not only myself but for my family, I have a wonderful supportive husband and 2 beautiful little girls who need me!
