    I'm to tight and miserable

Interesting that is me too. I have a 10cc band and have a total of 4 cc's. I threw up last sunday from an plain omlet. It was mucusy and clear...
  2. All, I had a 2 cc fill in my 10 cc band on Wedneaday. BINGO!!!! That is exactly what I needed. For me, this is the sweet spot. I have lost 4 pounds since Wedesday. Need to be careful to foucs on protein now that my intake is so restricted. Ran for 45 minutes yesterday. A year ago I could not run for 1 minute. Happy Sunday to all. Waist was 44 inches, now approaching 36 inches. Suits from size 50 now a solid 44, waiting for 42.

    Tips for a new runner?

Good for you. I started running on a tread mill for 1 minute. That is all I could muster. Yesterday I did a 45 minute 4 mile run. I will tell you the weight falls off when you start running. I started by walking and using the elliptical trainer at the gym. That is good for building strength and lung capacity. Keep on moving!!!!

    BBQ Chicken Pizza-(no bread)-but tasty

All canned chicken is great. I get mine at Costco. I use a little wasabi horseradish mayo in there. A great flavor and great texture.

    Sweet Spot?

I had my first 2cc fill in early Feb. Had to postpone my follow up until 3/30. A long time to wait. I am anxious to another fill. While I do have some restriction, not anywhere near enough. Weight loss has all but stopped. I know I am eating too much. If after the second fill, I am still "not there", how long should I wait before going back. I hate to wait a whole month. I'd appreciate any thougths or comments. Thanks. Don :help:

    December Bandsters

I am posting for my husband who reads but never posts. He was banded Dec. 8th. He also had Dr. Van Rueden Jessica. Your experience was same as his except my husband had no vein issues but was a bit nauseated in recovery and had trouble voiding but eventually went. Now he is 25 days out he is on mushy foods. He will have first fill at next doctors visit which is the end of January if I remember correctly. He already looks like a new person. From behind he looks thin. The belly is shrinking. He is doing great. Sometimes he has so much energy and other times is exhausted. I enjoy reading all your posts. It helps me as a spouse of a banded person. We haven't pureed meat yet. Mostly eating eggs, cheese, Protein pudding and shakes and salmon, tuna and my mock mashed potato recipe made with cauliflower. We have a Magic Bullet too. My husband has had some Soups too but they tend to be too salty for him. Black Bean from Pannera a favorite for both of us. I lurk all the time here and I am not banded or overweight(now but was 35 pounds heavier in the past). I should probably have my own sign in but you can see my husband's progress when I post so I'll stay on his. This is a great thread and I wish you all the best. You can do it!!!!

    What R We Eating

we live in Maryland. Just found the Maryland group here. My husband had surgery December 8th with Dr. Van Rueden and is doing great. They now have support group just for banders. He was advanced to mushy food a week early. He still doesn't eat much of it but likes the options. I am not a bander but love reading about everyones experiences and issues and sharing with very busy husband. I have my own weight demons but not at all in the morbid or obese criteria. Who doesn't? are there really people who can eat all the want and never gain weight?

    Protein Shakes?

I have 2 recommnedations. One is pure pro at GNC or Netrition.com. The flavors are very tasty and 35 grams of protein per 11 oz can. Also go to Protica.com. They are 25 grams. per tube and quite flavorful. Try the blue raspberry swirl! Hope this helps.
  19. Friends, To many of you these may not be new, but oh well. GNC has a great pudding...stallone high protein pudding. It is sugar free and 20 grams of protein per 6 oz. servinig. not cheap, but good and tasty. Also a protein shake I liked came from netrition.com. It is 35 gr. or protein per 11 oz. It tasted great also. I have tried vanilla and choclalte. GNC has them too. The website has great shipping $ 4.95 regardless of how much you order.

    December Bandsters

All, I was banded last Friday on 12/8. So far so good. I did lose some weight before I started. My surgery was with Dr. Von Rueden at GBMC in Baltimore, MD. A great hospital and great experience.
  21. Well, I made it. A long day yesterday. Got home at 6pm. Surgery went well. Sysnopsis today: Sore- but no need for pain med Have chewable gas relief meds on hand CVS brand is fine. Not hungry Still sleepy A troublr urinating. Secondary to anesthisia, I think. Throat a little sore from intubation. Otherwise going fine. Thanks for all your prayers. Don
  22. Anyone know a good recipe site for pureed foods that can be eaten after lapband procedure?
  23. Husband was banded today. He is doing fine. Minimal pain. Nauseated when he woke up and they gave him tons of drugs and it never came back. Belching like crazy and some trouble peeing. They fixed his umbilical hernia too. He is on clear liquids through Sunday then full liquids for 3 weeks and pureed for 2 weeks. Right now all he wants to do is sleep. It was a long day. Got to hospital at 6:15 and left a little before 5pm. Things were held up waiting for him to pee and getting barium swallow results before they would let him drink.
  24. Friends, I am looking for a guy who has gone through banding as I am doing tomorrow just to share and hear experiences.
  25. can anyone recommend a good protein powder that is unflavored and mixes well with liquids?
