My husband went to see the doctor about getting lap band also. The doctor gave him a sheet that said 10 Rules for Lap Band Success and I found it VERY HELPFUL so I thought I would share his with some everyone. 1. Eat only 3 small meals per day (300 to 500 calaries per meal) 2. Eat slowly and chew thoroughly ( Spend 30 min per meal and chew 15-20 times per bite) 3. Stop eating as soon as you feel full 4. Do NOT drink while you are eating 5. Do not eat between meals 6. Eat only good quality food ( low fat, low sugar, fruit veg, low fat meats, low fat dairy and whole grain) 7. Eat fibrous food with caution (raw fruit and veg., dry meats and bread) 8. Drink 64 oz of fluid per day 9. Exercise at least 30 min. per day 10. Attend Meetings/ Appointments I am so looking forward to the journey and I am so happy my husband will be doing this with me....:smile2:

I was told by the nurse I would have to have a Pulmonary Function Test at Pre-Op testing..Has anyone has done that type of test and what kind of test is it?

I went and met with the nurse, dietation, and got pysch eval done today. I didn't have to start no diet just yet..They are hoping they will be able to preform the operation with in 4 wks. I will have to do a liq. diet for 1 wk before the operation. I am very happy and very glad things went will today. Dr. Follwell's nurse was very nice I really look forward in dealing with them for life. Soon as I find out the surgery date I will post it. :rolleyes2:

In case he puts me on a liq diet...Just wanted to share the info. if anyone has any soup/broth they have found that was good please share with me for my husband and i are both doing the band.

Ya, I am really looking foward to the new start but a little scared also it is just hard to think about no more soda or bread for I really enjoy both. My husband is giving me support on this journey. I am hoping that the 12th will be the day I find out about the operation I am hoping to get it before my son starts school. So how bad is the operation and recovery? I had hernia surgery last year (belly button hernia) and girl I couldn't move for almost 2 wks. I will give those other broths and soups a try and keep me posted on new ones and I will do the same.
