Help!! Almost Two Years Out And I Am Stuck

Hello All! I need your help. I have been banded since July 2010 and Now I am stuck.. I had alot of issues with traveling and having to get fluid removed and alot of various things. Now I am stuck in a rut. My dietician says its all about getting back into it and sticking to it, but I think it is more mental than anything. Has anyone been in the same situation and what have you done?? I have in the past 8 months gained 18 pounds....and I am getting frustrated because I did so good. Any thoughts or ideas about where to start...

No Weight Loss at 5 months post-op

I agree... I had the band done on July 6th 2010. I lost 65 pounds in the first 4 months. I don't eat bread, pasta or rice. I am very cautious. I had a few complications while traveling and moving and ended up having my fluid removed for 6 months. Now, after having the fluid put back in slowly, the past 6 months, I haven't lost anything..I think instead of continuing on the right path, I got sidelined and started learning that if i eat softer foods, I can eat more, without ever learning what the "full" feeling was. I have gone back to my dietitian and she is helping get back on the right path....Its not learning the full feeling, its the feeling of Satiety. So now I am retraining myself. Its definitely hard. But if you get your mind set right and use the medical supervision, I think they will guide you to the right path. You definitely have to work out. If you don't, it is easy to fail.

    Celery, apple and walnut stuffing

This was absolutely wonderful!!! Loved in at Thanksgiving and will make it for Christmas!! I also used the chicken broth instead of butter....I stay away from butter all together...And it had so much flavor.

    HELP!!! Feeling a little hungry

I had the LAP-BAND® done on July 6th...and I don't have my first fill until Aug 16th..I am starting to feel a little hungry in between meals... How did you manager to get all the protein everyday? What were your easier foods to eat. I am not going to lie and say that it is easy for me...I was a big pasta and rice person, which contributed to my weight, I know that. I know it is easier than i thought it would be, so I am not missing it. I am trying to eat more filling foods. What are some of your more filling foods???? I Love the forums...You guys have a lot of information and recipes which are great. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  10. Congrats!!! Only you know. I took 8 days off and I thought that was perfect. I sit down at my job 9 hours a day and I felt good going back. I was a little tired, but felt well rested and not so sore. Just use your own judgement...Good Luck!!!

    Upper Leg Numbness

I am glad to see that I am not the only one. I have the numbness in my top left outer thigh. I am only 13 days out of surgery and i have had since about 2 days after surgery. I asked the doctor went I went in, he said that it should go away within a few weeks, but if not, let him know and it may be due to a pinched nerve. It is an awful pain that sometimes all of sudden feels like someone stuck a needle in my leg. Has anyone found anything that makes it feel better???

    bandster hell!!!

I am on the Same Diet that you are on. I had mine done on July 6th and I am just now starting to work in an egg or cottage cheese slowly as the doctor said that I was able to replace one liquid with one or the either. I am sticking to what they told me, as it seems like the ones that jump the gun are having the problems with digestion or throwing up. I received a really good outline of how my days are supposed to go and what foods are best during the stages. So I am right there with you.
  13. I Just had my surgery on July 6th and I feel all of you. This site is really neat as it gives you different perspectives and i am finding them all very helpful. I am in the same boat as I am tired of the broths and jello and tonight for the first time I felt hungry... I am just wondering did anyone have some good broths that they were eating?? I am tired of the vegetarian, chicken and beef...LOL...Any help would be greatly appreciated.
