Yeah I agree, most of us have figured out how to live with our bands and don't ask as many band related questions. After almost 2 years, I consider myself a bit of a guru on MY band and how to work it, and as such I can't remember the last time I actually asked a band related question seeking information for myself. What kind of information are you looking for?

Don't get me wrong, I don't want a dollar for dollar return on my tax in the way of benefits or rebates etc, that's a completely unreasonable expectation. But I'd like SOMETHING lol.

I'm with everything Jacqui said about the Aussie system. You should be very afraid if that's where you are heading in the US. As someone who has paid that 48 tax cents in the dollar since she was 26 and has no plans to have children, I'll see very little visible return on my tax dollars in the way of rebates or benefits for most of my working life, if at all. I also have to either pay the 1.5% medicare levy surcharge or pay for private health insurance because husband and I earn over the couples "cap" of being excluded from this (it was supposed to be $150k for a couple, but the stupid opposition opposed it in parliament and reduced it to, I think it was $120k - is that right Jacqui?), I figure I might as well actually HAVE the private health insurance than just pay the government more money so I can be a public patient in a crap hospital if I get sick. Lastly, I have to partly self fund my retirement too, when I can FINALLY retire at 70 (cos, you know we're working longer these days [or some crap]). To put is bluntly, it blows. Exactly. For some one who is in the public eye and influences people everyday (both positively and negatively IMO), she should perhaps be a little more open minded to options of solving a problem she has personally battled with for decades - if not for her, but for the fact that it works for SOME people. A lot of people are VERY impressionable and its sad that they cut themselves off to possible solutions because of one influential public figure's opinion.

To each their own. But I don't consider myself (or my wonderful 59 year old Mum who always looks STUNNING) stuck "in a box" because I/we take pride in our external appearances as well as trying to be the best, generous, caring human beings we can. Yes, there are more important things in life that a polished exterior, but if I'm shallow because I want to feel good on the inside and out, then I'll wear that badge.

I'm confused, in this last line are you saying as people get older their health or their looks matter to them less??

Thanks :tongue2: See this is why I don't post photos, I get all embarrassed! In that photo I was probably actually more like 145....I put about 20 pounds on in the couple of months after that because of a slip/complete unfill.....getting back there slowly.

One thing I have learned from being around here is that we're all our own worst critics. And you can always do what I do and take them down after a few days when you know your friends have seen them (and our friendly mods will help you if you can't do it - like if some one has quoted them in their post).

I met my hubby online. We were saying we loved each other within weeks and spent every spare waking hour in contact in some way. He came to Australia several months later and we were engaged 6 weeks after he arrived here. So it was probably 6 months from first contact to becoming engaged, no one even batted an eyelid at it because they could tell we were absolutely smitten with each other. It was just meant to be. Don't be afraid of something feeling right, there is nothing wrong with putting yourself out there!!

Ugh. I feel worse today. I am waiting to buy tickets online to go see my girl crushes in concert next year. The Veronicas. Have they made it into the American music market yet? They are young, hot, talented and successful.

I thought so....possibly even better because its 2 hours in one sitting! But I am a BIG fan. I laughed and cried all the way through. Some people didn't like the way the story left Carrie and Samantha, but I did! Watch it, if you liked the show, there will be parts of the movie you love too, even if you don't agree with where the script writers went :biggrin:
