I had surgery the 20 th, doc said also dont step on scale for the first week because they filled me with IV fluids and still really bloated . But I walked as much as I could religiously and by the time I got on the scale (6 days after surgery ) I was down 4 lbs . I am post op day 9 and down 12lbs . Pretty steady 2 lbs loss a day but I am being letter perfect . 3 Protein drinks a day , and a little plain yogurt /cottage cheese mixture . Just added in a Protein Soup and sugar free popsicle . Walking 10k steps , or around 4.5 miles . Getting 64 oz of Water . Will do this till next Thursday purée stage, but will keep calories under 800 and protein 60-100g. Seems to work

Amazing! 4.5 miles! Unbelievable! You are a Rock Star! Keep up the great work!

Everything went well. The surgeon said my liver was perfect and I went home the day after surgery. I went back to work a week after surgery and everything seems to be progressing along nicely. I hope all is well with your recovery.

Back to work after one week? Wow! That’s amazing! I can’t navigate the grocery store alone yet! Good for you! I’m a nurse, so it’s out of work for 6 weeks for me! No lifting/moving those patients my size😊

I had the sleeve gastrectomy 2 1/2 weeks ago and trying to eat different things. The refried bean and cheese sounds really good, have to try the tomorrow. Had cream of potato Soup and saltines for lunch, it was really good.

I can only have triskets and wheat thins. But hey, I love them! I’m gonna scoop my refried Beans with them soon! Good luck to you!

    Hi everyone! Happy holidays!

I had my RNY on December 17th as well. Threw in a large hiatal hernia repair to boot. Went in at noon on Monday and released at 11am Wednesday. Not bad. Came home off my blood pressure meds which was one of my reasons for doing the procedure in the first place.

I’ve had quite a good amount of pain that I’m attributing to the hernia repair more than the RNY. Protein shakes... can’t choke them down so I’m drinking Isopure like it’s my job. Whipped cottage cheese and unsweetened applesauce are my jam!

I’m really excited to make this tool work for me. This is likely the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. Glad to have all of you on this same crazy ride with me!

Hi! I had RNY on December 18th. Also had huge hiatal hernia repair. Was in hospital 3 nights. Had enormous amount of pain in left shoulder. Walking has helped tremendously! So happy to be in this group. My doctor seems rather progressive with the diet. Puréed starting week 2. Couldn’t believe I was able to eat so soon but everything is great! Down 17 lbs already. Good luck to you and God’s speed!

That sounds great. I’m on puréed at 10 days out and gonna have refried Beans with cheese tomorrow. Scrambled eggs. Baked cod, salmon, puréed roasted chicken sweet potatoes. Puréed cauliflower. All good. Watch portions. I had gastric bypass
