I have wanted to have Lap Band surgery for quite some time but there was no way I could afford it and my insurance does not cover any weight loss surgery. My mother graciously offered to pay for the surgery for me! After waiting about 6 months for a my former primary care physician to release my medical records I finally got to see a surgeon. I had my first consult in April 2010. At that time I weighed 258 pounds, the highes I have ever been. I then met with the dietician and made an appointment with the psychologist. I met with the psychologist in May and was approved to go ahead and get a surgery date. I went back to the surgeon on June 15th and at that time I had lost ten pounds. I was very pleased with that. I started my liquid diet on June 16th and since then I have lostt 7 more pounds. Surgery is next week :)
